PBS distribution and Blink film gained momentum ahead of MIPCOM, closing sales of “Ultimate Crash Test” and “Space Station Fear.”
The PBS Distribution-Blink Films Partnership is built on “a shared commitment to bold storytelling, international appeal and creative excellence.” Previous collaborations include Concorde: The Untold Story, Chernobyl: New Event, and Easter Island Origins.
“Ultimate Crash Test” is a NOVA production by GBH’s Blink Films related to Channel 4 in the UK and Welt in Germany, and has been sold to Channel 8 in Israel, NRK in Norway, and seven networks in Australia.
The program offers a “high-stakes investigation of engineering and safety innovations, combining real-world crash simulations with expert insights.” The film arrives at pivotal moments, making road safety more important than ever, as the global automotive industry rapidly changes with electrical and autonomous vehicles.
“The Fear of the Space Station,” a GBH’s NOVA production related to French television, is the account of one of the most talked about incidents on the International Space Station. The series harnesses the growing international interest in space exploration, and is consistent with new government and private sector missions.
It was acquired by SBS in Australia, Red Bull Media House in Austria, RTL in Luxembourg, RTI in Italy, Swedish SVT, YLE in Finland and TVN24 in Poland.
