Patrick Graham returns to the horrors of Hindi and is signing on to write a new feature film inspired by the real-life Indian tragedy.
Graham, who created the Netflix Horror series “Ghoul” and “Betaal,” writes the script for an untitled film, supported by Khyati Madaan’s Not Out Entertainment, along with Prashant Gunjalkar.
Ahan Shetty marks the actor’s genre shift following his debut in the romantic action thriller “TADAP” in 2021, ahead of his role in the ensemble war epic “Border 2”, which also features Sunny Deor, Diljit Dosanji and Varundowan. The patriotic drama is scheduled for a 2026 release in the Republic of India and is expected to be one of the major theatrical events of the year.
The project is positioned as a theatrical horror experience that mixes fear and romance, built around real historical events. Casting for the female lead is currently underway, with the title and director still being announced.
Graham’s previous works include the critically acclaimed “Ghoul” of 2018 and the 2020 “Bethal.” Global horror specialists are behind franchise tent poles such as “Get Out” and “The Purge.”
Producer Madhan launched Not Entertainment this year after a decade of careers with Red Chillies Entertainment, Disney India and Maddock Films. The company sets itself up to bring back theatre Hindi films through genre-defining storytelling. The current slate of the banner includes the romantic horror comedy “Abhootpurva” and a sliced drama of life from Habib Faisal, the Indian National Film Award-winning film director known for “Do Dooni Chaar” and “Ishaqzaade.”
Gunjalkar brings talent management and entertainment experiences through his Pals & Peers Company.
