Paramount Skydance continues to close the management ranks and hires Jeff Silberman as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy.
Silverman spent more than eight years with the Boston Consulting Group and most recently as a partner in media and entertainment practices. Early in his career, he worked for law firms Cooley LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
At Paramount Skydance, Silberman reports to Executive VP Tony Driscoll, Head of Corporate Strategy and Development. Driscoll previously served as Skydance’s advisor since September 2024 before the end of Paramount deals, and so he previously played roles at Epic Games, Warnermedia, AT&T and Disney.
Based in the LA area, Silverman holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Columbia University, a law degree from Yale Law School and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
On August 7, Skydance Media officially closed its acquisition of Paramount Global and ended its ownership of the Redstone family of media companies. The company brings together cable channels such as CBS, Paramount+, Pluto TV, MTV, Comedy Central and Bet, as well as Paramount Pictures and Skydance.
The new Paramount Skydance is led by Chairman and CEO David Ellison, and Jeff Shell (former CEO of NBCuniversal) takes on the role of president. Other top executives include COO and Chief Strategy Officer Andy Gordon. Andy Gordon previously led Redbird Capital Partners’ West Coast Office (the financial aid for Paramount Ski Dance Trading). Chair of original content ex-netflix VP Cindy Holland and consumer streaming.
Ellison and Shell said they expect to cut costs by more than $2 billion from Paramount. That includes a massive layoff, and is expected to eliminate as many as 3,000 jobs by early November, Variety reports.
