“Paradise” has been renewed for a third season on Hulu, Variety reports.
The news was announced ahead of the season 2 finale, which is scheduled to debut on the streamer on March 30th. Season 2 originally premiered on February 23rd. According to Hulu, season 2 has been watched for more than 30 million hours so far, and season 1 has gained 25 million hours since the start of season 2.
Sterling K. Brown leads the cast alongside series regulars Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Kris Marshall, Nuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and Charlie Evans. Regular guest appearances include James Marsden, Shailene Woodley, Thomas Doherty, and John Beavers.
According to the official logline for season 2, “Xavier (Brown) searches the world for Teri (Okuma) and learns how people survived the three years after The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric unravels as the Bunker deals with the aftermath of season 1, and new secrets about the city’s origins are revealed.”
“Paradise” was created by Dan Fogelman, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. In addition to starring, Brown also serves as an executive producer, with Jess Rosenthal, John Hoberg, Steve Beers, Glenn Ficarra, and John Requa also serving as executive producers. TV number 20 is the studio.
“Paradise” has received high praise from critics and audiences since its debut. The first season earned four Emmy nominations, including outstanding drama series and acting nominations for Brown, Marsden, and Nicholson. Brown also earned multiple other nominations for the show, including a Golden Globe nomination and winning the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.
