Rest in peace, Ozzy Osbourne.
During the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, the late Prince of Darkness was recognized with a powerful rock tribute featuring Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry along with punk rock singer Yungblud and guitarist Nuno Bettencourt.
The segment began with a video montage from Ozzy’s son Jack and his four daughters (all dressed in “Ozzy” shirts).
Yungblud then hit the stage, mimicking Ozzy’s signature “All Aboard” call before singing the renditions of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” and “Crazy Train.”
A while later, the 28-year-old singer joined Tyler and Perry, receiving a huge applause from the audience, “Mom, I’m back home.”
Before the show, several stars, including Taylor Momsen from The Pretty Reckless, honored the late heavy metal icon while chatting exclusively with Page 6 on the red carpet.
“Ozzy is very important to me. Black Sabbath is very important to me,” explained the Gossip Girl alum.
She had no joy in meeting the hitmaker in person, but Mamasen still realized how Ozzy’s music was “infiltrating (her) spirit and presence.”
“I feel like I know him, I know my family,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ozzy guitarist Bettencourt told Page Six that what’s included in the homage to the heavy metal “Godfather” means “everything” to him.
“As a guitarist listening to rock and metal, he was our godfather,” Bettencourt gushed, celebrating Ozzy’s career with Black Sabbath, his days as a solo artist and, ultimately, his turn to reality television.
“This guy influenced the culture in a way and touched everyone in many different ways.”
Yungblud also paid tribute to Ozzy on the red carpet by wearing a special cross necklace that was given to him by the Prince of Darkness before his death.

He also said, “The fact that he lived to play and feel with that love again. You know, “drama.” To do “Crazy Train.” ”
Before his death, Ozzy reportedly moved to Buckinghamshire, England in 2023 with his wife Sharon and lived his “final chapter” before “in peace.”
“Ozzy’s last day was spent in the UK, surrounded by family, music and what he called home,” a source told people in July.
“Sharon wanted to return to England for years, especially when he was older. England was always home for them, but it’s even more.”
