OWN has greenlit two new television specials starring Emmy Award-winning spiritual life coach Iyanla VanZandt. Details of the specials have not yet been revealed, but both continue Van Zandt’s goal of helping people “fix” their lives, and production will begin in March.
News of the two specials comes on the heels of the launch and release of “Iyanla: The Inside Fix,” which revived Vanzant’s previous series, “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” and gave Vanzant a deeper look into the 12 most memorable episodes. OWN says “Iyanla: The Inside Fix” premiered at No. 1 among African-American women and is the cable network’s top-rated Saturday among African-American women.
“The response to ‘The Inside Fix’ has been nothing short of a blessing,” VanZandt said. “This series is a healing ministry. Each story, each tear, each moment of truth is a sacred encounter with the human soul. When one soul speaks the truth, the frequency of truth spreads through the entire group. As one heart is purified, the vibrations of wholeness ripple outward. They are not bystanders. They are participants in a collective healing process for themselves, their families, their communities, and the world. It is not about fixing your life. There are no more superficial solutions. The truth is here. ”
“Iyanla: The Inside Fix” premiered earlier this year, but VanZant first made her television debut in 2012 on “Iyanla: Fix My Life.” The show, which will run through 2021, spotlights conversations about personal growth and features guests such as Sheree Whitfield, Karrueche Tran, and Evelyn Lozada. She is also the author of over 17 books, including In The Meantime, Yesterday I Cried, and Forgiveness: 21 Days to ForgiveEveryone for Everything.
“Iyanla: The Inside Fix” is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, a Banijay Americas company, for OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. The show airs Saturdays at 8pm ET on the network.
