French production distribution company Oble has won numerous deals for its latest screenplay series ahead of Le Havre’s Unifrance Rendez-Vous TV Mart, including “The Plague”, “Winter Palace” and “Extra.”
“The Plague” is an updated adaptation of Albert Camus’ iconic novel “La Peste,” produced by Siècle Productions and Arezzo Films, and was sold to Walter Presents on the US PBS Masterpiece Prime video channel and to Pubcaster RTP on French broadcasters TV5 Monde and Portugal.
Set in 2029, the series follows a different group of people who are personally and professionally working on the new virus spreading throughout the French Riviera as the government enforces strict lockdowns with the mystical “Plan D” that threatens civil liberties.
At the heart of the storm is Professor Rieux, a dedicated doctor. He will do his best to save the victims of the plague abandoned by the government while standing up with activists against oppressive measures.
The show was previously sold to AMC Networks International Southern Europe.
“Winter Palace”

“Winter Palace” following Andre Morell, a young Swiss hotelier in 1899, is about to realize his ambitious vision, followed by Andre Morell, was similarly sold to Walter Presents on the PBS Masterpiece Prime video channel in the US, RTP in Portugal, and SBS in Australia.
The Swiss France co-production from Netflix and RTS’ Oble and Point Prods revolves around the efforts of young hoteliers to build their first five-star hotel in the Swiss Alps in the winter, demanding partnerships with wealthy aristocrats and challenges facing risky ventures: hostile customers, and customer demand.
“Extra”

“Extra” is said to be “atypical family comedy” that deliberately challenges the concepts of desire, intimacy and joy, even for people with disabilities. It follows Prim’s appropriate wife, Katherine Blondin, mother and director of the comprehensive choir group, who will become a sexual advocate for disabled people.
“Extra,” produced by Les Films du Cygne, has previously been sold to Swiss RTS and Portugal RTP.
