Fuque’s New York – a marble-covered luxury hotel located in the heart of Tribeca – has become the unofficial runway for Cream Dela Cream at New York Fashion Week.
Victoria Menechella Bello, director of marketing and communications, got an exclusive glimpse into Page 6 within the charming Groupe Barrière property that provided Parisian style escapes with big Apples that thrilled stars like Kylie Jenner, Miley Cyrus and Brad Pitt.
“Fouquet is a fashion week hotspot because it really has “je ne sais quoi.” It said, “If you know, I said, ‘You know,'” Menekela Bello said.
Take the guild Spikes hidden behind the modest doors in the gorgeous lobby. Infused with rich colours and textures inspired by the French sisters’ fortunes, Tituver became the backdrop of the evening infused with cocktails from “original supermodels” Christie Turlington, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen.
“They actually took a selfie that went very viral. It was a big moment for the hotel,” recalls Menekela Bello. “It introduced us as a fashion spot.”
Before the official opening day of 2022, the hotel’s first guest checked in was runway icon Kate Moss from the 90s.
“It really set the tone. I think we showed everyone that we are a place for girls in fashion,” said Menecella Bello.
Famous guests are drawn to the intimate atmosphere of the cocktail lounge and the popular pornstar martini (with a balanced blend of vanilla vodka and passion fruit and a sidecar of champagne), but dig into the venue’s finest restaurants, Brasserie Foucets, and the bistris bistros, like the French bistros, such as the finest restaurants in the venue, the Brasserie Foucets, and the French bistros.
“Brasserie Houches was a well-known restaurant called Taylor Swift’s favorite restaurant in New York City,” said Menecella Bello. “After a hit on the news, it was impossible to book a few weeks here.”
Over the years, several stylish events have been unfolding in sophisticated dining rooms. This was attended by NYFWfête from French clothing brand La Lignay, with Emily Ratakowski and Chris Locke.
“People were actually dancing at the table,” recalls Menekela Bello.
Private parties for fashion elites are also taking place at Levaux, an exclusive rooftop that is accessible only to members and hotel guests.
“People like to come to the rooftop for a light bite, have a drink with friends and watch the sunset,” said Menecella Bello.
Last year, Moda Operandi co-founder Lauren Santo Domingo held an intimate soiree to celebrate the scent of Chloë Seviigny’s flower, Little Flower. And this year, the hotel is partnering with the celebrity-loved Therapilates studio for daily classes throughout Fashion Week.
Serena Williams also unveiled her new podcast using her beautiful outdoor oasis while staying as a guest at the hotel ahead of the 2025 US Open. She enjoyed the obvious decadent decorations and posted some photos of herself from the lobby and her gorgeous suite.
The hotel’s biggest suite, the two-storey penthouse, conceptualized by internationally acclaimed Swedish interior designer Martin Brudnizki, has a starting rate of $22,000 per night.
The 3-Bedroom, 4-Bathroom, 3-Terolas Mega Suite features hand-drawn wallpaper inspired by French gardens, full-office, cozy outdoor fire pits, and wet bars packed with candies, top shelf alcohol and sleep supplements by Courtney Kaldacian’s Remum Wellness brand.
“The suite has an insane art collection,” said Menechela Bello. Natalie Choi was the mastermind behind the art curation of the Penthouse, but all the other suites were engrossed by search art.
Aside from the beautiful primary bedroom with a private terrace overlooking downtown Manhattan, the luxurious ensuite bathroom with his marble sink and a freestanding tub provides plenty of natural light perfect for photography and glamour sessions.
“Many different VIP guests and celebrities want to give their charm here for natural light when they shoot and put on makeup,” said Menecella Bello. “Charlotte Tilbury hosts its annual event here, with several different and well-known figures preparing for it.”
At last year’s makeup brand event, Sienna Miller and Miranda Kerr gusted before heading out for a “glamorous evening.”
The hotel has several private entrances to allow VIP visitors to fly under the radar while they travel. And if they choose to hide inside, residents will have everything they need, from room service and private sessions with dog pound gym trainers to spa access and indoor spray tongue services or IV drip treatments.
Through NYFW, Atming MedSPA will be holding a pop-up event in one of the great suites from September 11th-14th. This event allows clients to enjoy IV therapy, facials, guasha massage, filler injection and repair laser treatments.
The Fouquet’s team is willing to go “beyond the top,” Menekelabello said, adding that “there is nothing impossible.”
“The most unique request we’ve ever got is that one of our guests drinks only milk from Elewon,” she recalled.
“So we had to go to the messenger and grab some milk in Los Angeles. Then they had to ship here within 24 hours.
Another “wild request” staff encountered was when a celebrity noticed the hotel’s pet-friendly policy and asked them to bring in eight dogs.
“We are pet-friendly, but unfortunately we couldn’t accommodate,” laughed Menecella Bello.
But for the lucky dogs staying overnight, executive chef Matthew Wolf offers a gourmet pet menu.
“So, if the dogs check in, they get all the fixtures. We have beef tartare. It’s really, really high and well done,” Menekela Bello said.
She added, “And our doormen are always willing to walk around Tribeca and take their dogs with them.”
Ultimately, it is Fouquet’s unique “French spirit” that will return the A-listers after the season.
“We are truly proud of the hospitality of France,” meditated on Menecella Bello. “We go beyond that with each guest. You can really feel it when you walk into the door.”
