Nikki Glazer won’t roast Kevin Hart.
The comedian and Golden Globes host said he received an offer to take the stage on Netflix’s upcoming Live Heart Roast, hosted by Shane Gillis.
Glaser appeared on iHeartRadio Music at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday. At the Awards, he said, “Right now I don’t have time in my schedule to dedicate to giving what I want to give,” adding, “I love it, and when I work hard, I kill it, but I don’t have time to work hard, and I just roasted Kevin Hart at the Golden Globes. I roasted him[with a roast of Tom Brady]. Here’s what’s coming.” If you know what I mean, keep it short with short jokes. ”
In addition to Brady, Glazer participated in the roast of Rob Lowe, Alec Baldwin, and Bruce Willis.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Glazer would return as host of the Golden Globe Awards for a third time in 2027. “Honestly, as long as they want me to be in it, I’d love to do it because, honestly, it’s a fun job,” she said. “It’s the only thing I do once a year where I’m like, oh, I really gave it my all. Working hard and doing things that are scary builds self-worth. I’m always scared. And then in February, March, in the spring, I feel so relaxed and so accomplished. If anything, I just want to not get depressed. Because what keeps me from getting depressed is getting scared and overcoming things, whether it works out or not.”
Glazer will next be seen in the stand-up special “Good Girl,” which premieres on Hulu on April 24.
“There are so many jokes that I’ve told on tour over the years that I’m scared of them coming out,” she said. “You can always tell a joke in front of a non-recording audience, you can just say something crazy, but then they say, ‘We’re going to put it on tape,’ and you go, ‘That’s great.'” Then you see it in the edit and you think, ‘Wait, everyone’s going to see this and they’re going to get the same kind of comments about this.’ ”
Glazer compared doing stand-up to sex. “I love doing stand-up and it’s crazy and wild and uninhibited in the moment, but after that I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t want to hear how I sounded. I don’t want to hear what I said or did.”
iHeart’s big headline that night was Taylor Swift’s rare public appearance at the awards show. Although Glazer calls herself a Swiftie, she claimed she didn’t actually want to meet the superstar. They first met several years ago, before Glazer became a big fan. “On the way here, my assistant said, ‘Why don’t you practice saying it to her?'” Glaser said. “I said, ‘No, I don’t want to rehearse it, I want it to be from the heart.’ But I also think that’s probably a bad thing, because I think it’s probably going to be pretentious and a little embarrassing. I don’t need her to deal with that tonight.”
In fact, Glazer said she’s happy just being in the same room as Swift. “I love looking at her from a distance and thinking, ‘Oh my God, I’m breathing the same air as her.'”
