Nikki Garcia praises her ex-husband Artem Chigvintsev for being co-parent with her five-year-old son Matteo.
WWE star, 41, made rare comments about dance pros on her podcast with her sister Bree, sharing that she supports her decision to return to wrestling.
“I have to give it to Artem, who is amazing to adapt it to my schedule,” she said on an episode of “The Nikki & Brie Show” on Thursday.
“And I almost get Matteo and he forgives me. He’s amazing,” she continued.
Nikki, whose divorce from 43-year-old Chigvintsev was finalised in May, said their son is doing great things in the changing dynamics of their own.
“We adapted well and adopted Matteo’s prosperity,” she said.
Brie also had kind words about the situation and told Nikki, “You and Artem were a great team.”
Of course, exe has not always been such a friendly word.
In September 2024, Nikki requested full legal and physical custody of Matteo. The former couple was given joint custody a month later despite Nikki’s request that Chigvinstev only obtain supervised visits and take an angry management class.
They were also ordered to attend individual therapy and parenting classes.
The two began dating in 2017 after being paired up on “Dancing with the Stars.” They married in Paris in August 2022, two years after Matteo’s birth.
The pair was split shortly after their second wedding anniversary.
At the time, Chigvintsev was arrested on felony domestic violence charges, but he denied any misconduct, claiming that his then-wife was an invader.
The price was removed in September 2024.
According to the divorce agreement between Nikki and Chigvintsev, the “Total Bellas” star is paying $3,500 a month in child support, TMZ reported in May.
Garcia also reportedly agreed to give Chigvintsev a lump sum of $100,000, $100,000.
