Nicole Kidman’s interview on the podcast “Las Culturistas” gained attention on social media after the Oscar and Emmy winner revealed that she told Alexander Skarsgård to stop eating falafel before a kissing scene because Kidman despises bad breath.
“I can’t stand bad breath,” Kidman said. “This is a deal breaker for me. You may be the most drop-dead gorgeous man, but if you come at me with bad breath, I’ll say no. If I say, ‘Blow on,’ and have to back away, oh, I’m out. You couldn’t offer me enough money.”
“When Alexander Skarsgård ate a falafel sandwich before shooting a scene for ‘Big Little Lies,’ I thought, ‘No, no, no, Alex. Please put the falafel away now because I was going to kiss you like crazy,'” she continued. “I don’t think he ever ate falafel again. I said, ‘I’m never going to eat falafel again. Not before we kiss, not before we make love.'”
Kidman and Skarsgård appeared in Season 1 of HBO’s Big Little Lies as married couple Celeste and Perry Wright. Both actors won Emmy Awards for their performances. Kidman returned as Celeste in the show’s second season, and Skarsgard made a guest appearance.
Last September, Variety reported that Big Little Lies Season 3 was officially in production on HBO. Francesca Sloan, co-creator of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, wrote the first episode of the hit series and is executive producing season three. Sloan will serve as executive producer alongside David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, with Kidman and Witherspoon returning to lead the cast.
