If you ask most celebrities what they do to prepare for the Oscars, they’ll probably tell you things like going to the gym, getting a massage, and eating a healthy breakfast.
But Nicole Kidman is different.
“It’s crazy, but I go to church in the morning,” she told me Saturday night at Chanel and Charles Finch’s pre-Oscar dinner at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel. “We narrow it down…it just centers me. That’s what I do on Sundays.”
Kidman is scheduled to present at the Oscars. Daughters Sunday and Faith attended the Chanel dinner, but will not be attending the Oscars or the afterparty with their mother. “No, it’s Sunday night,” the “Scarpetta” star said. “They’re on spring break, but we’re all kind of just going to go home and take a bath and go to bed.”
In fact, Kidman added, “I might go out partying…I should go out.”
In addition to Kidman, Chanel and Charles Finch’s star-studded guest list included Jesse Buckley, Teyana Taylor, Kristen Stewart, Mick Jagger, Sharon Stone, Javier Bardem, Diane Warren, Lily-Rose Depp, Sigourney Weaver, Olivia Munn, Ted Sarandos, Mae Rudolph, Paul Anthony Kelly, Sarah Pidgeon, Leslie Mann, and Judd. Apatow Harvey Keitel, Elle Fanning, Regé-Jean Page, Joel Edgerton. “Train Dreams” directors Clint Bentley and Josh Safdie.
The Oscar ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will be held on March 15th at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood and will be broadcast live on ABC and streamed on Hulu.
