Nicole Eggart shared a calm update during her breast cancer battle.
The 53-year-old Baywatch alum took to Instagram Thursday to share a make-free mirror selfie in a black sports bra and underwear, saying, “I had a mastectomy that I’d reconstructed on Thursday. How was the weekend?”
Followers in the comment thread included pop icon Debbie Gibson.
Fellow Baywatch alumni Carmen Electra and Erica Electra wrote “Get It Baby 🔥🔥” and Electra said, “Damn it, Nicole.”
Fans also sent messages of encouragement. “You’re so brave and thank you for sharing your journey, Nicole ❤️,” one person wrote, while another said, “It’s not easy to be vulnerable. Thank you for trusting us all and knowing you in your heart.”
The third writes, “You are a warrior and your honest explanation of your experiences will help the world. You are amazing!”
In a live interview in January 2024, Eggert first revealed his breast cancer diagnosis (stage 2 bone muscle cancer) in December 2023.
The “Charles Inn Rep” actress told people at the time that she saw “terror” on her daughter Keegan’s face and was motivated to hit the disease when she spoke about the diagnosis.
“Immediately, ‘I’m not going to give in to this. This is something I have to get through. This is something I have to beat. She needs me more than anything,” she told the outlet.
“My fears are my daily hustle and all I do to keep doing everything will be to shriek off what I feel bad, or I’m in the hospital, or I’m in the hospital, or what’s going on,” she continued.
The actress confessed that she initially thought her symptoms (including “severe pain” in her left breast) were due to menopause.
In March 2024, the actress took her to Instagram and shared a video of her shaving her head at home on the journey.
In the background, the Beastie Boys hit “Fight for Your Right” played as one of her daughters helped her finish her job.
At the time, fellow ’80s icon Alyssa Milano called the move “stimulating,” while Jenny Garth wrote that he “sents you a big hug.”
In November, the actress went to Instagram again and shared an update after a particularly traumatic CT scan.
“I just came out of my CT scan for my radiation therapy and when they said they were going to tattoo me, I was just coming out of my CT scan – they’re calling it – they’re calling it… I didn’t realize it was a real, real tattoo, so I was tatted,” she said on the video from inside her car.
“It’s nothing but dots, but boy, every step in this process will never make you forget it,” she continued. “There’s always a constant reminder.”
“Yeah, I have a tattoo,” she added. “My mother would be really proud of my neck tattoo, but that’s fine, it’s fine.”
Eggart is the mother of two. She has never revealed the father of her daughter Dillin, 27.
