Sally Carson has revealed that Nick Viall and his wife Natalie Joy have personally apologized to Austin Kroll after an insensitive interview.

“They both called him and apologized,” the “Southern Charm” star exclusively revealed on Tuesday’s Page Six Radio. “I certainly think he should apologize publicly,” she said.

“I think it needed to be bigger,” Carson continued. “I think the reason you don’t want to apologize is because you don’t want to admit that you were really wrong?”

Last month, Kroll appeared on the couple’s podcast, Viall Files, during which they confronted Kroll about the shocking death of her older sister Kyle. When she was nine years old, she fell off a cliff during a family hiking trip and died.

“Honestly, my heart broke for him,” Carson said of watching the interview. “I called him to make sure he was okay. I was like, ‘I’m so sorry, this must have been hard.’

The reality star told hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real that the question about Kroll’s late sister seemed to “come out of nowhere.”

“I could tell he was uncomfortable because his legs were shaking. I’ve been friends with him for a while, but I’ve never heard of (Kyle). I think he should talk about it when he feels comfortable.”

Carson, 31, agreed with Leal and Murphy that if the two were truly sorry, the uncomfortable moment should have been edited out of the podcast episode.

Representatives for Mr. Viall, Mr. Joy, and Mr. Kroll could not immediately be reached for comment to Page Six.

In an uncomfortable interview on January 7th, Joy told Kroll: “I jumped right out of ‘Southern Charm,’ and I know I’m going to jump right back into it, but when I look back at your childhood, I didn’t know about your sister, who died when you were nine years old.”

Kroll, 38, replied, “Okay, I’m switching gears.”

Joy continued to ask more personal questions, such as how old she was when the tragedy occurred and whether she was there when her sister collapsed.

After confirming that he was there to witness the tragedy, Joy questions him further, asking, “What was this cliff?”

Kroll, waving his legs repeatedly and looking uncomfortable, declined to name the town where the tragedy occurred.

During the Jan. 7 interview, Joy and Viall awkwardly broached the topic of their sister’s dramatic death and refused to let it go, even though Kroll looked uncomfortable.
Kroll himself said, “Okay, let’s switch gears.”

Fans and fellow Bravolebrities immediately took to social media to call for questioning of Viall, 45, and Joy, 26.

Kroll’s “Southern Charm” co-star Rodrigo Reyes said of Joy, “She’s a POS.”

“The Valley” star Janet Caperna criticized the interview in an Instagram post, commenting, “This is so funny… even for them.”

This wasn’t the first time the two had a falling out over comments made on a podcast.

Fans and Bravol celebs alike, including Crawl co-star Rodrigo Reyes, slammed the couple for the way they asked the question. Sally Carson/Instagram
Viall and Joy are known for their unfiltered takes on their shared podcast, and have faced backlash before.

In December, she received backlash for making mother-shaming comments about Whitney Leavitt, the star of “Mormon Wives.”

During the episode, the two questioned Lievitt’s adventure in playing Roxie in the Broadway play “Chicago,” which many felt implied that her children weren’t her top priority.

“Vanderpump Rules” alumna Stassi Schroeder then slammed them on her podcast “Stassi,” calling their comments “bizarre.”
