Nick Reiner grinned as he appeared in court for his arraignment on charges of murdering his parents, Rob Reiner and Michelle Singer Reiner.
The 32-year-old man was seen walking into the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning with sunken eyes, a shaved head and a beard.
He attended the hearing wearing a brown jumpsuit and shackled behind a glass wall with his lawyers.
Nick looked out from the gallery where the media and lawyers sat, a Post reporter noted.
At one point, he hung his head in exhaustion.
The filmmaker’s arraignment was postponed again after his lawyer, Alan Jackson, resigned before the hearing.
“We ask that you be withdrawn as attorney of record,” the criminal defense attorney told the judge. “We have no choice but to retreat and seek relief.”
Kimberly Greene, a Los Angeles public defender, represents Nick.
His new arraignment is scheduled for February 23.
“Well, I agree with that,” Nick told the judge before being led out of the courtroom.
Nick is currently incarcerated at Twin Towers Correctional Facility, awaiting trial for the murders of Rob and Michelle on December 14th.
The 78-year-old legendary director and his 70-year-old wife were found dead of stab wounds in their home in Brentwood, California.
The night before their deaths, Rob got into a heated argument with Nick, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party, sources confirmed to The Post.
Nick was arrested hours after his parents’ bodies were discovered and charged with first-degree murder. He faces life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.
Rob and Michelle were also the parents of Jake (34) and Romy Reiner (28).
