The New York Comedy Festival has announced a lineup of the “New York Funny Stand Up” showcase. This is a new spin in a long-standing tradition to find the next great voice of stand-up comedy.
The show will take place on Wednesday, November 12th at 7pm at the Hard Rock Hotel venue in Times Square. Comedians include Geoffrey Asmus, Gabby Bryan, Jason Choi, Rocky Dale Davis, Lev Fer, Ontonio Kareem, Jaye McBride, Amber Singletary, Maddy Smith and Joe Zimmerman.
For 16 years, the event was a race where the comic fought it to win the title “New York’s Funniest Stand-Up.” Previous performers include Nate Bargatze, Michael Che, Tim Dillon, Josh Johnson and Ricky Veles. In its 17th year, the event acts like a showcase for the growing talent of comedy.
This next chapter of “New York’s Funny Stand-Up” is extremely exciting not only for comedians, but also for fans and the industry, and we are excited to partner with the thread,” said Caroline Hirsch, founder and owner of the New York Comedy Festival. “We’ve seen how the threads that use it are separated each month, with over 350 million people igniting it with comedies and creator circles. It’s become a live, spontaneous, hilarious space for comedians. It amplifies these rising voices and helps them connect with new fans and future collaborators.
This year’s New York Comedy Festival will feature Underground Yards, Hannah Burner, Michael Blackson, Louis CK, Margaret Chou, Alex Edelman, Chris Fleming, Pete Holmes, Morgan Jay, Ismo, Ryan Long, Ryan Long, Nurse John, Yohai Sponder, “Strangers of Strangers.”
