Netflix has released behind-the-scenes photos of Michael Fassbender as Joe Kennedy Sr. from the new drama series Kennedy.
Along with the photo, the streamer added 13 recurring stars to the cast. Joining Fassbender are Laura Donnelly as Rose Kennedy, Nick Robinson as Joe Kennedy Jr., Joshua Melnick as Jack Kennedy, Lydia Peckham as Rosemary Kennedy, and Thora Lightfoot-Leon as Kick Kennedy. Previously announced stars also include Ben Miles, Cole Dorman and Imogen Poots.
New cast members include Georgina Bitmead (Assassins, Sex Education), who plays Eunice Kennedy, the fifth child of Joe Kennedy Sr. and Rose Kennedy.
Miley Locke (Amandaland, There She Goes) plays young Kick Kennedy, Joe and Rose’s fourth child.
Tipper Seifert-Cleveland (Crookhaven, Cruella) plays young Rosemary Kennedy, Joe and Rose’s third child.
Hella Hilmar (The Sea, Reykjavik Fusion) plays Inga Arvad, a Danish actor-turned-journalist who was close to Jack Kennedy in the early 1940s.
Wyatt Russell (Monarch, Thunderbolts) plays Charles Lindbergh, the American aviator who achieved international fame in 1927 by making the first solo transatlantic flight.
Patrick Fischler (Barry, Paradise) plays Arthur Kroc, an influential American journalist who served as Washington bureau chief for The New York Times from 1932 to 1953.
Caitlin Fitzgerald (Succession, Station Eleven) plays Claire Booth Luce, a prominent American author and socialite of the Kennedy clan in the late 1930s, and a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1943 to 1947.
Louis Landau (Rivals, Butterflies) plays Billy Cavendish, Marquess of Hartington and a member of the British aristocracy.
Robin Thornes (Victoria and Abdul, The Queen) plays Neville Chamberlain, British Prime Minister from 1937 to 1940, known for his leadership in the years leading up to World War II.
Denis O’Hare (The Borrows, American Horror Story) plays Raymond Furness, a career U.S. State Department official working at the U.S. Embassy in London in the late 1930s.
Albert Welling (Succession, Mr. Bates vs. the Postman) plays Winston Churchill, a British politician, first Lord of the Admiralty, and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945 and from 1951 to 1955.
Toby Huss (Weapons, Hurt and Catch Fire) plays Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, who served from 1933 until his death in 1945.
Eddie Marsan (No Ordinary Heist, Ray Donovan) plays J. Edgar Hoover, the first FBI director who led the FBI from its creation in 1935 until 1972.
“Kennedy” is a reference to Fredrik Logevall’s book “JFK: “The Rise of the American Century, 1917-1956”, which, according to the official description, “reveals the intimate lives, loves, conflicts, and tragedies that formed the most iconic dynasty in modern history and helped create the world we live in today. 1930. The first season, which begins in the 70’s, charts Joe’s unlikely rise to fame, along with Rose Kennedy and her nine children, including her rebellious younger son Jack, who struggles to escape the shadow of his older brother, the golden boy. ”
