Natasha Lyonne claimed she was taken into custody by ICE after being removed from a plane for taking sleeping pills.
Lyon made the claim after Page Six broke the news that the “Russian Doll” star was escorted off a red-eye Delta flight.
“In fact, I boarded the Lunesta once I was seated to make sure I saw Delta One’s red-eye flight to New York,” Lyon wrote on X Friday. “I was able to board the plane smoothly with just my backpack and sneakers, and I felt like taking a nap.”
The “Orange Is the New Black” alum, 47, explained that she was planning to “put her bushy tail” and “give my beauty a break” as she was scheduled to head straight for a glam session for her appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show” shortly after landing.
“I was looking forward to meeting Drew and having an in-depth conversation, but it appears ICE had other plans and detained me instead,” she said, adding, “I think it’s a sign of the times.”
Lyon thanked his fans for their support and said he has never had any problems with Delta Air Lines or the TSA in the past.
“Our hearts go out to our unpaid @TSA employees 💗💗 Sorry to all the delayed travelers,” she concluded.
As Page Six previously reported, Lyonne was removed from a plane after attending the season 3 premiere of Euphoria on Tuesday.
Mr Lyon appeared to be “fainted” while sitting in first class and did not comply when flight attendants asked him to close his laptop and fasten his seatbelt for takeoff.
Witnesses said she had fallen asleep with her sunglasses on, and the plane eventually taxied back to the gate.
A Delta Airlines employee boarding the plane asked her if she needed “medical attention” before asking her to get off the plane.
Mr. Lyon seemed confused and asked where he was until he was told that he was still in LA because his plane hadn’t taken off.
The actress then calmly made her way to the bathroom after silencing the gate agent, eating a bag of pretzels before coming out and exiting the plane.
The captain apologized to the passengers as the plane was delayed for more than an hour.
“For some reason… we have a passenger who refuses to follow some basic commands… We had a passenger who didn’t seem up to the task tonight, so we decided to book another flight. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we will get you to New York as quickly and safely as possible,” the captain said before the plane took off for New York City without any other issues.
On Thursday, Lyonne addressed the incident on the X Post, saying she was looking forward to the Barrymore show but “it wasn’t in my plans.”
That same night, she boldly attended the premiere of The Lawn in New York and posed for photos on the red carpet.
Lyon has publicly dealt with substance abuse in the past, revealing in January that he had relapsed after 10 years of sobriety.
Last month, she told fans that she was feeling “much better” and was “back on her feet.”
“I want to thank our recovery community and our fans for standing by and supporting us,” she wrote to X. “While I hope to keep this journey private in some way, I naturally look forward to sharing my experiences, strength, and hope. My heart goes out to everyone who is going through this.”
