Natalie Wood’s granddaughter, Clover, starred in a new fragrance campaign inspired by Starwood’s daughter, Natasha Gregson Wagner, calling it “My way of connecting my daughter to my daughter.”

It was not exactly planned that Clover, Natalie Wood’s 13-year-old granddaughter, will become the face of a fragrance line inspired by the legendary star. But in an unexpected twist, Clover, daughter of Natasha Gregson Wagner (Natalie’s daughter) and husband actor Barry Watson, is the star of their new campaign.

“I think it’s my way of connecting my daughter to my mother,” says Natasha, 54, who was 11, when her mother passed away.

Natasha began talking more publicly about her mother in 2016 when she launched her fragrance line, Natalie, inspired by the scent of her mother’s signature. It was her first step towards regaining the story of a glowing star that was often brought to life by her death on November 29, 1981, at the age of 43.

“I’ve always been looking for beauty,” says Natasha. “I love the idea of ​​bottling memories.”

Over time, the fragrance line led to other ventures, including her intimate memoir of 2020, more than love, and the accompanying HBO documentary Natalie Wood.

Now she is rebooting her fragrance line with three scents: Natalie, the original gardenia, Natalie. Rose-based scent, C-Love (“If you add “r” to c-love, it’s clover,” she explains). And lyublyu, (it means love in Russian. It is inspired by my grandmother. He always said, “I love you.”

It happened when Natasha took Clover to New York in the summer, and Jonathan Wresler, a friend of Ramur Meer, proposed a casual photo shoot at the hotel.

Named after one of her grandmother’s famous films, Daisy Clover, she packed her favourite Natalie Wood T-shirt into the star’s portrait, one of the series Natasha commissioned as part of her fragrance product line several years ago.

When Clover wore it at the end of the shoot, the photographer asked, “Who is wearing your t-shirt?”

“Clover said, ‘Oh, that’s my grandma,” explains Natasha. “And the photographer said, ‘Well, I need to take a picture of you with that t-shirt.’ ”

Without makeup or flashy lighting, the result is a photography series with natural softness, reminiscent of my famous grandmother. Her famous grandmother has made such films, such as Gypsy, and films with no cause of Rebel, such as such memorable classics.

As Clover grew, she became more curious about her famous grandmother. “She’s interested in my mother’s level of fame,” says Natasha. “She’s going to know a famous young man and say, ‘How famous was she?’ Like Justin and Haley Bieber or something? ” she adds with a laugh.

“She started to see greatness in the grass (Wood’s 1961 film is the opposite of Warren Beatty about the fateful love affairs of two high school lovers), and it’s a pretty intense film. “Clover is a very sensitive person, and I think she has an example of that in her grandma.”
