Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson, Arizona, neighbors reported an internet outage shortly before her disappearance, and federal investigators are now said to be looking into whether there is a connection between these events.
Neighbors reportedly told NewsNation that Ring camera surveillance footage from the night the 84-year-old Guthrie matriarch disappeared, from Jan. 31, when she was officially reported missing, to Feb. 1, is “not available.”
Additional neighbors in the quiet community told NewsNation that FBI agents questioned them on Feb. 1 about an “interruption in internet service.”
Surveillance footage extracted from Nancy’s nest camera is said to have raised questions about whether the device in the suspect’s pocket could be a signal jammer.
Journalist Brian Entin zoomed into Nancy’s home via X on Friday, testifying to the intimacy from where he was standing.
“This is the distance from where the offline Ring camera is located to Nancy Guthrie’s house. In between is open desert. If you zoom in, you can see the roof of Nancy’s house,” he wrote.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Office and FBI did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment Friday evening.
Horrifying footage of the suspect who allegedly took Nancy from her home in the middle of the night shows a masked man, who FBI officials say was of average build, between 5’9 and 5’10” tall.
He was wearing what appeared to be a Walmart-brand Ozark Trail backpack and what appeared to be black gloves during what appeared to be a home invasion.
Savannah Guthrie’s elderly mother was reported missing on February 1 after failing to attend her regular church service after a night out with her family.
Authorities believe she appeared to have been abducted “against her will” as droplets of her blood were left on her doorstep.
The investigation into the kidnapping continues, and the family recently increased the reward to $1 million for “any information leading to the return of Nancy Guthrie.”
Savannah briefly returned to the Today show earlier this week for an emotional reunion with her staff and co-stars.
A spokesperson confirmed to Page Six: “She plans to return to the show on air, but right now she is focused on supporting her family and bringing Nancy home.”
