Thai production and marketing company Shinesaeng Ad.Venture has entered into a strategic partnership with 66cc (formerly known as Distribution Workshop) and Kongkiat Production to release the action drama film “Prasert”, and the project debuted in the international market at this year’s Hong Kong Filmart.
Under the distribution agreement, Shinsei will handle international rights for Southeast Asia, while 66cc will manage the rest of the world rights. Founded by veteran producer Jeffrey Cheung, 66cc specializes in international sales, feature film development, production, investment and IP licensing, with a focus on diverse regional cultures and Asian IP for regional and global audiences.
“Prasert” is directed by Konkiat Komsiri, whose credits include “Our House.” The film centers on a rental car company owner who happens to witness a murder, and he and his family become the targets of a ruthless gang. The cast includes Nam Kanchai, Weir Sucorawat, and Tu Popetone.
Komsiri described the project as more than just a genre exercise. “‘Prasat’ is not just an action drama film, but a story that I want the audience to empathize with,” said the director. “We have developed the film to offer both tense situations and a strong emotional core, while offering viewers meaningful new perspectives. We hope that ‘Prasat’ will not only entertain and thrill audiences, but also allow them to connect with the characters and truly feel the heart of the story.”
For CineSen, this project marks a continued push to bring Thai cinema to the broader Asian market, and reflects the company’s view that the international outlook for Thai cinema is based on strong creative fundamentals, from screenplay and storytelling to character development and production quality. The partnership is also positioned as a sign of a broader industry shift in Thailand towards content that prioritizes audience engagement alongside commercial ambitions.
