Justin Bieber shocks fans with surprise ‘SWAG II’ album release
Justin Bieber really is standing on business.
The singer shocked fans on Sept. 4 by announcing that his new album, “SWAG II,” will be released at midnight on Sept. 5. Taking to Instagram, he posted several pics and videos of billboards in various cities that featured the album’s title over a baby pink background.
“swag II tonight at midnight,” he captioned each post.
The surprise project comes just two months after Bieber released “SWAG,” his seventh studio album, which featured songs like “Go Baby,” “Daisies,” “Yukon” and “Sweet Spot.”
While not much is known about the “SWAG” sequel just yet, fans have already been sharing plenty of theories on social media. Many believe the new pink aesthetic could mean a more pop-inspired track list versus the R&B hits Bieber released over the summer.
Others simply couldn’t contain their excitement over the surprise announcement, writing things like, “I thought my day couldn’t get any better… and then SWAG II,” “OMG IM GONNA CRY CANNOT WAIT” and “I’m gonna be thinking about swag II all day.”

The Las Vegas Grand Prix is already lining up to be one epic event for music lovers.

They are set to perform at the East Harmon Zone at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, with supporting acts Jazzy and BANDABBA, along with Las Vegas-based performers like AWAKENING, Cirque du Soleil and Jabbawockeez.
“The Heineken Silver Stage has become a staple of race weekend, mixing the entertainment Las

MGK teams up with Snapchat for epic surprise show in LA
Not sure if we’ll ever be OKAY after this one.
Page Six scored an invite to MGK’s private show in Los Angeles on Aug. 15, where he performed an electric set on a beach-themed stage that was set up inside Snapchat’s Santa Monica Studio.
The “Under the Ghost” event was hosted by Snapchat in support of MGK’s newly-released album, “Lost Americana,” the musician’s seventh project to reach Top 10 on the Billboard 200 charts.
We were front row as the rocker and his band performed a variety of new tracks — including “Starman,” “Dont Wait Run Fast,” “Vampire Diaries” and “Goddamn” — as well as classics like “Forget Me Too,” “Bloody Valentine” and “Kiss Kiss.”
Throughout the evening, MGK had the entire crowd singing along to his songs and laughing with jokes about the set, Snapchat filters and more.
“This album is the antithesis of the American boy or girl who’s experienced the best this country’s had to offer, and the worst this country’s had to offer,” he explained during one of his more serious speeches of the night.
“It’s a through line of the struggle that we continuously go to because a lot of us just can’t figure out what the f–k to do. Life sucks sometimes, life’s cool sometimes.”
The intimate event was invite-only, with many of MGK’s close friends, frequent collaborators, Snap creators and more popping in to show support.
We spotted everyone from Siiickbrain to Delaney Glazer — who starred in his music videos for “I Think I’m OKAY” and “Cliché,” respectively — amongst the star-studded crowd.
At one point, MGK also brought one of his loyal (and now-viral) fans — Emily Taylor aka “Machine Gun Emily” — on stage to assist him with songs from his “Hotel Diablo” era.
Snapchat’s “Under the Ghost” series gives fans an unfiltered look at their favorite artists like never before, “fostering a sense of genuine connection that goes beyond the typical artist-fan dynamic.”
The unique concert experience is like having a personal, VIP backstage pass to the music industry — and we’re so here for it!

During the intimate concert, presented by Hershey’s, the Louisiana native performed hits like “Somewhere Over Laredo” and “Watermelon Moonshine” to a crowd of SiriusXM listeners and superfans.
The performance kicked off just days before the highly anticipated release of Wilson’s deluxe edition of her “Whirlwind” album, out Aug. 22.
Fans can tune into SiriusXM’s The Highway (ch. 56) at 8:30 p.m. ET on the day of the release in support of the Grammy-winning country superstar.

My Chemical Romance receives special honor in New Jersey during sold-out show
Welcome home, My Chemical Romance!
The New Jersey-born rock band returned to their roots on Aug. 9 for a sold-out show at MetLife Stadium, where Page Six was up close and personal for all the action.
The band — which played their hit 2006 album, “The Black Parade,” in full — was at one point joined on stage by Belleville, NJ, mayor, Michael Melham.
“Belleville has a very storied musical history, from Connie Francis to Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons, and to a band you might have heard of – My Chemical Romance,” Melham gushed, as the jam-packed crowd erupted into applause.
“Yet, even in our storied history of Belleville … never once in the history of Belleville have we ever handed out a key to the city, and that changes right now. It is my distinct honor to present My Chemical Romance with the keys to their hometown, Belleville, New Jersey!”
After posing for a photo with the larger-than-life commemorative key, frontman Gerard Way returned to the podium to thank the mayor.
Staying in character as an Eastern European prisoner from MCR’s made-up nation of Draag, Way presented Melham with a bundle of wheat and a “local” fish in return for Belleville’s big honor.
My Chemical Romance is currently on the road for their “Long Live: The Black Parade” tour, which continues in the US through September. Find tickets and more information here.

Yellowcard fuels wave of nostalgia with new single, “Bedroom Posters”
Which bands or artists were hanging on your bedroom wall growing up?
That’s the engaging question Yellowcard is asking fans to answer in promotion of their new single, “Bedroom Posters,” which dropped on Aug. 15.
“‘Bedroom Posters’ is a song about looking back at a formative time in your life and remembering what it felt like to leave it behind,” the rock band explained in a statement shared via social media, encouraging fans to “use the song” and tag Yellowcard in their photos (bonus if posters are included).
“This is unlike any song we’ve ever recorded … it’s really cool to finally have it out in the world.”
The single is a lead-up to a full-length album they’re dropping on Oct. 10th, the band’s first in nearly a decade. We hear Blink-182 rocker Travis Barker will be producing the album, titled “Better Days,” and playing drums on all of the tracks.
“At my age, putting the hat back on and really getting into rock ’n’ roll and pop punk, the music that we do best together… I felt like, for the first time in our career, I was open to getting some help,” original member Sean Mackin recently joked to Alternative Press. “But we wanted our people, our friends, people that work with the band we know.”
For his part, Barker noted that it was “such an easy project” and “easy group of guys” to make music with.
“It was active and really a part of everything in the studio,” he explained. “(We were) really focusing on the songs, what I thought they needed for their album, and topics that were sincere to them to write about.”
The album marks an extra special one for Yellowcard — and their fans! — after the “Ocean Avenue” rockers went their separate ways in 2017. At the time, they felt their chapter together had closed.
“Our last show was March 25, 2017, at House of Blues Anaheim. There was a period at the end of the sentence, the door was closed, it was the end. I truly believe we all felt there was no chance that we would ever make music together again,” lead singer Ryan Key explained to Alternative Press.
“We had put so much thought into how we were stepping away from the band on our own terms. The reasons were valid, and the reasons were our own … but there was, waiting in the wings, people who believed that someday these wounds are going to heal, and Yellowcard will be back.”
And “back” is an understatement. In addition to their new single and forthcoming album, Yellowcard has been busy in rehearsals, gearing up for their “Maximum Fun Tour.”
They’ll be hitting the road with A Day to Remember, along with special guests State Champs, The Wonder Years, Boundaries and Dinosaur Pile-Up for select dates.
Visit the band’s official website for tickets and more information, and pre-save “Better Days” here.
Taylor Swift announces new album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ — with plenty of teasers
Are you ready for it?
Taylor Swift’s new era has officially been unlocked.
The singer shocked fans in early August with the surprise news that she will be releasing a brand new album, titled “The Life of a Showgirl,” on Oct. 3. While fans will patiently have to wait to hear music from the forthcoming project, Swift dropped plenty of hints during her “New Heights” podcast debut on Aug. 13.
“This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this (Eras) Tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant,” she told co-hosts Jason and Travis Kelce, noting that there will be 12 tracks, all of which are “bangers” that she created while touring in Europe.
“It just comes from, like, the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in, in my life. And so that effervescence has come through on this record … this is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time.”
Swifties can pre-order the Grammy winner’s 12th studio album, along with other merchandise, on her official website. In the meantime, read more — and see the stunning album artwork — here.
Third Eye Blind reacts to MGK sampling their song on ‘Lost Americana’ album
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo-doo, doo.
MGK is igniting new energy into “Semi-Charmed Life.”
The singer released his new album, “Lost Americana,” on Aug. 8, and sampled the classic Third Eye Blind track in a song titled “Starman.”
“I want something else to get me through this / Semi-charmed kind of life / Baby, baby, I want something else / I’m not listenin’ when you say goodbye-e-e-e,” he sings, before putting his own edgy spin on the quadruple-platinum hit.
“Said she wanna see the real me, so I’m standing naked / Tryna understand who I am, so ovеrrated / We can get closе, touch lips, have conversation / From the Midwest, but we need Californication.”
After instantly recognizing the sample, we went straight to the band to get their reaction to MGK taking on their 1997 hit, which has remained one of their most popular songs to date — and arguably one of the best alternative-rock anthems of its time.
“He is irrepressible. Uncontainable in the way people want to be,” frontman Stephan Jenkins exclusively told Page Six, noting that “Semi-Charmed Life” is “owned” by the culture.
“I’m glad that artists like MGK find ways to bring energy and life to their own stories through the song.”
MGK previously revealed he had to get some help from the National Guard in order to get the sample — which he called a “huge soundtrack to (his) life growing up” — cleared in time to make it onto the album.
After working up the courage to reach out to Jenkins directly, the two had plans to meet up at the musician’s Malibu, Calif., home. But, because of the wildfires that were ravaging through LA at the time, the road to Jenkins’ residence was blocked off.
“So many homes were burnt and lost in that strip there, this iconic strip in California,” he recently told fans at a listening party in New York City, referencing California’s Pacific Coast Highway. “You can only get through if you have a resident pass, like if you have a house there. I do not.”
“I pull my car up to the National Guard and I was just sitting there like, ‘Dude, please be a young army man who likes MGK,’” he joked.
“I said, ‘Dude, I’m gonna be completely honest with you. I’m trying to clear this song for an album that means a lot to me. The guy to clear it is right in there (in that house), so will you believe in this mission and let me accomplish it?’ He was like, ‘Go ahead, bro. I better hear it on the album.’”
Needless to say, MGK made it to Jenkins’ home just in time — and submitted “Starman” as track No. 9 on his seventh studio album.
“There are plenty of famous people who are trying to get past the National Guard to drive down the PCH,” Jenkins recalled to Page Six.
“That MGK is not only the one to get through, but who makes that guardsman feel good about doing it, is indicative of who MGK is as a person. I think it is a big part of why his fans feel uplifted by his music.”
“Lost Americana,” released via Interscope Records, is out now. For more on Third Eye Blind, check out their 2025 Tiny Desk performance below:

MGK track selected as official anthem for ESPN’s new College Football season
Gameday just got sweeter!
On July 31, ESPN announced they’ve selected an unreleased MGK track as the official anthem for the upcoming 2025-2026 College Football season.
“Dont wait run fast” — off MGK’s “Lost Americana” album, out Aug. 8 from Interscope Records — will serve as the soundtrack to NCAAF games this fall.
“This is what college football sounds like 😮💨,” ESPN captioned their announcement video, which featured the song playing in the background of clips from various collegiate teams.
The exciting news was announced just days before MGK Day is expected to kick off Aug. 8-10 in Cleveland, Ohio. The three-day event will celebrate the release of MGK’s seventh studio album with hundreds of fans in the rocker’s hometown.
An insider exclusively tells Page Six that guests should expect special live performances at the annual block party, including an onstage appearance by MGK’s drummer, JP “Rook” Cappelletty, who experienced a frightening accident that left him with multiple broken bones over a year ago. He has officially been back playing with the full band since February of this year.
The talented musician is fresh off his latest performance at Warped Tour, where he was a surprise guest for We the Kings’ energetic show in Long Beach, Calif. The set featured a medley of hits, including “Say You Like Me,” “Check Yes, Juliet” and a cover of “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers.
“Thank you for having me,” Rook later wrote on Instagram. “Very blessed to be a part!”
See a recap of the performance below and visit mgkday.com for more information on the charity event. Fans can catch even more MGK and Rook on Monday, Aug. 4, when they perform on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Justin Bieber celebrates new album, ‘Swag,’ with star-studded party
The Biebers know how to party.
On July 24, Spotify and SKYLRK teamed up to host a listening party for Justin Bieber at the Bird Street Club in West Hollywood, Calif.
The bash — also attended by Hailey Bieber — was in celebration of the singer’s seventh studio album, “Swag,” which was released on July 11.
We hear the star-studded guest list included Kendall Jenner, John Mayer, Madison Beer, The Kid Laroi, Lori Harvey, Gunna, Emma Chamberlain, Finneas and more.
Throughout the evening, attendees took turns playing rounds of interactive golf as tunes curated by DJ Tay James played through the speakers.
At one point, Justin was spotted hyping up the crowd and lip syncing to the title track off his newly released album.
“So happy for you and so proud of everything you’ve created with this album. It’s beautiful,” one fan wrote in the comments section of Justin’s Instagram post recapping the private soirée.
“Love the new album 🙌 and how this was executed,” added another. “It feels so real and true to yourself, @lilbieber 🙌.”

Summer hit-makers Jessie Murph and Ravyn Lenae made a splash at Spotify’s 2025 Songs of Summer Party in Beverly Hills, Calif., on July 23.
To celebrate their top tracks of the season, the ladies took the stage to perform a medley of hits at an exclusive venue. Murph wowed the crowd with an acoustic version of “Blue Strips,” off her new album, “Sex Hysteria.” She also sang hits like “1965,” Touch Me Like a Gangster” and “Heroin.”
Meanwhile, Lenae got the audience on their feet when she belted out her catchy song “Love Me Not.” At one point, the musician also took off her stilettos so she could groove along with fans while singing songs like “Genius” and “Love Is Blind” from her 2024 album, “Bird’s Eye.”
Notable attendees included “Love Island USA” star Belle-A Walker, “Dancing With the Stars” pro Ezra Sosa, “Too Hot to Handle” alum Harry Jowsey and “The Summer I Turned Pretty” star Lily Donoghue.
Guests were spotted sipping on the party’s signature cocktail, vodka lemonade, throughout the evening, while indulging in mini pizza bites and lobster rolls. Those who scored an invite also received a swanky gift bag that included a customized beach towel and lemon sorbet for the ride home.
Murph and Lenae were also recognized in Spotify’s “Wild Card” editorial track list, which reflects the top songs listeners are tuning into globally. Others featured include “Manchild” by Sabrina Carpenter, “Fame is a Gun” by Addison Rae, “No Broke Boys” by Disco Lines and Tinashe and “Daisies” by Justin Bieber.

Five Finger Death Punch takes a cue from Taylor Swift, re-recording their classic hits
Ooh, look what you made them do.
Five Finger Death Punch, a hard rock and heavy metal band that originated in Las Vegas in 2005, has taken a page out of Taylor Swift’s book. After recently discovering that their original master recordings were sold by their former label, Prospect Park, the band was inspired by Swift to re-record their classic hits.
“Her actually doing it, battle-testing it, gave everyone real-life telemetry. A proof of concept,” 5FDP founder and rhythm guitarist Zoltan Bathory exclusively told Page Six, when asked how the pop star played a role in their decision.
“Now there’s precedent, an actual measurable example that it’s worth the heavy lifting. After that proven chess move, artists choosing to respond the same way are not jumping into this blind.”
The “Wrong Side of Heaven” rocker also told us that seeing the 5FDP x Swift crossover amongst their fans online has been “beautiful chaos.”
“Metalheads and Swifties in the same comment sections, in agreement, writing a quite unexpected symphony. Clearly, this one is not about genres. It’s about principles,” he explained. “It’s about truth that resonates, passion that resonates. I don’t know if it ends up leading there, but it would definitely be an interesting collab… some people could for sure use a Swift Five Finger Death Punch.”
Like Swift’s experience with her own former label — which resulted in a years-long feud with record executive Scooter Braun — 5FDP’s recordings were sold without their knowledge. When asked how the band reacted to the news, Bathory (who is also a martial artist) didn’t hold back in his response.
“I could quote our favorite octagon poet, Nate Diaz, right after submitting his highly favored opponent, Conor McGregor. He delivered a timeless gem of humanity, right up there with Oscar Wilde and Marcus Aurelius: ‘I’m not surprised, motherf–kers,’” he recalled.
“That pretty much sums it up. The only surprise was how casually it happened. No call, no heads-up. We found out from a third party after the fact.”
Bathory admitted, however, that there was some slight hesitation when deciding whether fully re-recording their earlier hits was the right move.
“The real question was whether we should turn the other cheek, like most artists are either forced to do or begrudgingly choose to do, or … maul them rascals with righteous fury and the thunder of drop-tuned guitars,” he joked, raising a fist in the air. “These songs are sacred to us and to the fans, so re-recording them or altering them in any way felt dangerously close to sacrilege. That was our real dilemma.”
Eventually, Five Finger Death Punch “made peace with the idea” that they would not be “erasing the past” or “replacing” the originals.
“We’re giving the fans something extra. An alternative. A 2025 version that stands beside the old ones; not in place of them,” Bathory told us.
“20 Years of Five Finger Death Punch – Best Of, Volume 1,” out July 18, will feature re-recorded classics and three previously unreleased live tracks including “I Refuse (2025 Version)” feat. Maria Brink of In This Moment.
The 17-track album will also honor the 20th anniversary of the band’s formation — a true “tribute to the fans, the legacy and the music.”
“We know (our fans) well, they’re our extended family. They have been with us for two decades. When the re-records drop, they’ll understand the assignment,” Bathory proclaimed. “They know exactly why we did it, and they’ll be right there with us, like they always have been.”
311 rocks the Big Apple with electric show at Pier 17
311, a beloved rock band from Omaha, Neb., is celebrating an impressive 30 years as a group this summer.
Nick Hexum, Chad Sexton, P-Nut, Tim Mahoney and Sa Martinez kicked off the festivities with their Unity Tour in June ahead of the highly anticipated re-issue of their self-titled “Blue Album,” out July 11.
One of their recent tour shows included a stop at The Rooftop at Pier 17, where they performed an electric set consisting of their classic hits, including “Amber” and “Down,” along with new tracks like “Need Someone” and “You’re Gonna Get It” off their latest album, “Full Bloom.”
“There’s nothing like playing under the city lights with the New York City skyline behind us. Pier 17 was pure magic,” the band exclusively told Page Six after the show.
“The crowd brought the energy, the vibes were sky high, and we felt the love from start to finish. New York, you always show up. Thank you for an unforgettable night!”
311 remains one of the longest-running, original member touring bands. The group has continued to find success with the recent release of their “Full Bloom” title track, which surged into the Top 20 on the Alternative charts. Fans can catch 311 perform live on the remaining dates of their Unity Tour, which wraps Oct. 17 in San Diego, Calif. Find tickets and more information here.

Stevie Nicks teases ‘autobiographical’ album inspired by ‘fantastic men’
Stevie Nicks revealed she is working on an “autobiographical” album — her first project of entirely new material since 2011’s “In Your Dreams.”
The legendary singer teased what she called “the ghost record” while being inducted into the Pollstar Live! Hall of Fame on April 16.
“I have seven songs, and they are … real stories where I’m not pulling any punches for probably the first time in my life. They are not airy, fairy songs that you are wondering who they’re about but you don’t really get it. They’re real stories of memories of mine of fantastic men,” she said, citing the late Prince as one muse.
The event also honored Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Jelly Roll, Missy Elliott, Taylor Swift, Usher and Dead & Company, the latter of which won residency of the year for its “Dead Forever” show at Sphere in Las Vegas.
Backstage, Nicks posed for a photo with Dead & Company members Bob Weir and John Mayer.

The Millennium Tour hits the Dallas-Fort Worth area
If I had one wish … it would be to go back to the Millennium Tour 2025.
The 25-city trek, produced by the Black Promoters Collective and co-headlined by Trey Songz, Omarion and Bow Wow, made its way to the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, area on March 28 for a celebration of R&B and hip-hop from the 2000s.
The tour features a star-studded lineup, including Nivea, Plies, Boosie, the Ying Yang Twins, RSVP and special guest Rick Ross.
The sold-out crowd in the Dickies Arena was filled with fans who wore their best throwback outfits, from airbrushed shirts to jersey dresses.
The show kicked off with a short but energetic set by Nivea, who performed her classic hits “Okay,” “Don’t Mess With My Man” and “Complicated.”
Next to hit the stage were the Ying Yang Twins, who had everyone on their feet during their 15-minute performance of “Salt Shaker,” “Wait,” “Say I Yi Yi” and “Whistle While You Twurk.” Despite being in their 40s, Kaine and D-Roc made their presence felt on every side of the stage.
RSVP, a group comprised of Ray J, Sammie, Bobby V and former Pretty Ricky singer Pleasure P, were the next to hit the stage, delivering a standout set that included each of their solo hit songs.
Bobby V stole the show by showing off his piano skills, handing out red roses to the ladies and showing everyone his mic was on during his performance of “Mrs. Officer.”
Next up was Boosie, who kicked off his performance with his hit song “Wipe Me Down.” A highlight of the Louisiana native’s set was his tribute to Dallas rapper MO3, who was shot and killed in November 2020. Boosie performed their hit song “Everybody.” (Just a week before the show, rapper Yella Beezy had been charged with hiring a hitman to kill MO3.)
Rounding out the performances before the co-headliners took the stage were Rick Ross and then Plies.
While Plies’ show was very high-energy, Ross’ performance left us questioning why he was even added to the tour. Honestly, this can be the time you take a bathroom break or head back to the bar.
Bow Wow kicked off his 30-minute set by jumping out of the floor and performing his Chris Brown-assisted hit, “Shortie Like Mine.” He also performed “Like You,” “Let Me Hold You” and “Outta My System.”
During his show, Bow, born Shad Moss, revealed that his eldest daughter, Shai, 13, was present with his friends and had recently become a resident of Dallas after her mom Joie Chavis’ house burned in the Los Angeles wildfires.
Omarion was next to perform — and thanks to people making fun of how his chest looked at another show, he kept his shirt on for the full set. He performed his solo hits, such as “O,” “Touch” and “Post to Be.”
He also took it back with a few B2K hits … but lacked the nostalgia without Lil Fizz, Raz B and J Boog onstage with him.
Last, but certainly not least, was Trey Songz, who wooed the ladies with his R&B hits “Love Faces,” “Neighbors Know My Name” and “Panty Droppa.” Halfway through his set, he brought out Dallas rapper Dorrough, who performed his 2009 hit, “Ice Cream Paint Job.”
When Trey concluded his set by performing “Bottoms Up,” he took off his black tank top, rubbed it all over his sweaty face and abs and threw it into the crowd for a lucky fan to have.

Lady Gaga announces ‘intimate’ tour for new album ‘Mayhem’
Lady Gaga announced on March 26 that she will be taking her new album, “Mayhem,” on the road.
“I wasn’t planning to tour this year after my shows in Singapore but the incredible response to the new album inspired me to keep things going,” she wrote on Instagram.
“It came together super quickly thanks to (music promoter) Arthur Fogel and the amazing team at Live Nation, who planned a global tour in just a few weeks.”
The “Abracadabra” singer explained that she booked arenas instead of stadiums to have “the opportunity to control the details of the show,” which she teased will be “the kind of theatrical and electrifying experience that brings MAYHEM to life exactly how I envision it.”
She added in a press release, “I wanted to create a different kind of experience — something more intimate, closer, more connected — that lends itself to the live theatrical art I love to create.”
Gaga will kick off the Mayhem Ball on July 16 in Las Vegas before stopping in US cities, including New York, Miami and Chicago, through September. A European leg will follow, concluding in November.
Tickets for the North American dates are available April 3, with presales beginning March 31.

Taylor Swift, the Eagles and more make charitable donations to LA’s wildfire relief efforts
A number of bands and artists are giving back to the community to assist in rebuilding Los Angeles.
Taylor Swift — who has a history of donating to victims of natural disasters — revealed on her Instagram Stories on Jan. 16 that she donated an undisclosed amount of money to various charities helping in relief efforts, including the California Community Foundation Fund, Greater Los Angeles Education Relief, Habitat for Humanity and MusiCares.

Grammys to proceed as planned with ‘a renewed sense of purpose’ after LA wildfires
The 2025 Grammys will still take place at the Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles on Feb. 2.
The Recording Academy announced on Jan. 13 that the annual awards show will “proceed as planned” following the tragic wildfires that swept through various parts of Southern California in early January.
“This year’s show, however, will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours,” a statement from Recording Academy and MusiCares CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and Board of Trustees Chair Tammy Hurt read in part.
“In challenging times, music has the power to heal, comfort and unite like nothing else. The Grammys will not only honor the artistry and achievements of our music community, but also serve as a platform to amplify the spirit of resilience that defines the great city of Los Angeles.”
Several events surrounding music’s biggest night have been canceled, however, including the annual star-studded parties hosted by Sony, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and BMG.
