Mikayla Matthews admitted her “downfall” in a playful TikTok after revealing her separation from husband Jace Terry.
In a social media upload on Thursday, the “Secrets of a Mormon Wife” star narrated, telling her followers, “Don’t even worry about preying on[her]downfall.”
The Hulu personality quipped, “I’m already down. The horse is already down. You don’t have to put me down. I’m down.”
The reality star, who was sweating in a pink T-shirt, captioned the video, “Feeling like today and every day (thank you).”
Matthews posted the video hours after news broke that he and Terry had split after eight years of marriage and four children.
The MomTok star, who shares Beckham, 8, Heaven, 6, Tommy, 4, and Lottie, 7 months, with her partner, made the revelation during a confessional on Thursday’s episode of the show’s fourth season.
“We both agreed to live separately,” she told viewers before packing up her belongings in a subsequent scene.
“I don’t think we’re going to break up forever,” she clarified. “Of course, I think we’re going to continue to see each other every day. I’m not going to be away from my kids even for a day anyway.”
The 25-year-old explained that she needed to heal from a mysterious chronic illness because her “bucket is (too) full” to have the “motivation” to address intimacy issues with her husband.
Matthews, in particular, has a history of sexual abuse, and the couple has been undergoing couples therapy over their bedroom disputes.
“Sexual intimacy…is his number one need, and that’s what hurts me the most,” she joked.
Matthews said it could take “weeks or even months” for the wounds to heal, and it was unclear when the two would separate.
“There’s a part of me that’s really scared of losing him because I feel like our marriage is so good apart from the sexual intimacy part,” she said.
The couple married in March 2018, having met the previous year when Matthews was 16 and expecting their first child.
“Secrets of the Mormon Wife” Season 4 is now streaming on Hulu.
