Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry remains hospitalized three days after falling off the stage during the Miss Universe evening gown competition.
The 28-year-old beauty pageant contestant was striding across the stage in a sparkly orange dress and high heels during a pageant in Thailand on November 19 when she tripped and completely fell off the stage.
In an update published by the Miss Universe Jamaica organization on her Instagram Story on Friday, November 21 and sent to PEOPLE, it was explained that Henry’s sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry Samuels, is currently in Thailand with Henry and his mother, Maureen Henry.

Dr. Henry Samuels said: “Although Gabby’s condition is not as good as we had hoped, the hospital continues to provide her with the care she deserves.”
Due to Henry’s condition, medical officials determined that Henry would need to remain in the intensive care unit (ICU) for at least seven days, as “doctors will continue to provide close monitoring and specialized treatment.”
The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization called on Jamaicans “at home and across the diaspora to continue to keep the Gabriel Prayer” during this “extremely difficult time.” They also encouraged people around the world to join them in “lifting her up with love, strength and hope.”
“We respectfully ask the public and social media users not to share negative comments, misinformation, or speculation that could cause further distress to the family,” the update said. “Our primary focus continues to be Gabrielle’s recovery and the well-being of her loved ones. We ask that you continue to provide compassion, care, and privacy for the family as they navigate this difficult time.”
