Miley Cyrus and Max Morando are engaged after four years of dating, Page Six has confirmed.
The pair first sparked engagement rumors when they walked the red carpet together at the world premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash in Los Angeles on Monday. (Her song “Dream As One” is used in the movie.)
Cyrus, 33, and fellow musician Cyrus, 27, posed for photos together, making sure the eye-catching diamond set on a chunky gold band was front and center in every shot.
Jewelry designer Jackie Aish was later confirmed by her agent, Francesca Consulting, to have custom-made the ring.
Francesca Consulting also shared details of the bauble, noting that it features a “chunky” 14K yellow gold band set with cushion-cut stones.
For Monday night’s outing, Cyrus shocked in a black strapless sequined dress with a structured bodice, ruffled skirt, and train, while Morando looked handsome in a classic black suit and white collared shirt.
Just hours after the couple walked the red carpet together, Max’s father Dan Morand further confirmed the news by sharing a congratulatory post on social media.
He gave fans a close-up look at Cyrus’ ring while posting a photo of the private celebration at what appears to be a sushi restaurant.
She also shared a photo of the couple hugging and smiling while celebrating their engagement with friends and family, captioning it, “❤️ 💍🍾🎉.”
According to Dumois, Cyrus, who was married to actor Liam Hemsworth from December 2018 to January 2020, was first photographed wearing a ring in mid-November.
The singer-songwriter also showed off her bauble as she celebrated her birthday over the weekend.
Cyrus posted two photos on Instagram, holding her hands over her face as she marveled at her birthday cake, with the caption: “Thanks to the warmth of all your sweet birthday wishes, my 33rd year is already shining brightly. All I want this year is to laugh more with those of you who are showing me the smile lines that are slowly starting to appear. 🤍 I love you all.”
Representatives for the star did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
In 2023, Cyrus told British Vogue that she started dating her drummer (formerly with The Regrets and now playing in the band Lily) a few summers ago.
“We ended up going on a blind date,” she revealed at the time, before clarifying, “Well, it was a blind date for me and not so much for him.”
The “Hannah Montana” alum soft-launched their romance in November 2021 by including Morande in an Instagram carousel featuring photos from the Gucci “Love Parade” fashion show they attended together.
The following month, the two were spotted getting close at Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, which was televised in Miami. During a commercial break, Cyrus was caught on video dancing with Morando backstage.
The two were spotted making out in LA in April 2022, a source told E! Six months later, news broke that their relationship was “very serious.”
Morand then accompanied Cyrus, who produced the song, to the 2024 Grammy Awards, where she won Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit song “Flowers.”
Not only did the lovebirds share a celebratory smooch, but she also shouted out her “love” during her acceptance speech.
A few days later, People magazine reported that Cyrus and Morando were living together.
“She’s very happy with him,” a source said at the time. “Miley has changed a lot in the last few years. She looks more calm and harmonious.”
The source added, “Everyone loves Max. He’s a great guy. … He’s very private and doesn’t like to be in the press, which was good for her.”
Two months later, Cyrus, a millennial, spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about how she and Morando, a member of Gen Z, are coping with the age gap, gushing that Cyrus is “so inspirational to me.”
