Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino reveals his “important” relationship advice to keep your love alive.
The Jersey Shorestar, who has been married to her college lover Lauren Sorrentino since 2018, recently caught up with people on the 2025 MTV VMAS red carpet in New York.
“Communication is important, and that’s the best,” he said.
He said, “Secondly, if you guys get into the fight, you always apologize and try not to do crazy things. You know that happens sometimes, but always remember that your husband and wife and you love each other.”
Mike then moved to Lauren. Lauren accompanied him to a star-studded event.
“Why are you mad at it after three kids look like that? She looks gorgeous,” he cried.

Lauren, 40, cried out with her own thoughts about what makes their relationship work after all these years.
“Mike has the saint’s patience,” she said.

Mike and Lauren met as students at Brookdale Community College in 2005.

“My girlfriend is my college lover. We met each other when she was probably 19 and I was 22,” he told people in 2018.
The couple went on a date until Mike joined the cast of the Jersey Shore in 2009. They eventually rekindled off-screen romance in 2013 when the show ended.
Mike asks Lauren to marry him on Valentine’s Day while on vacation in Miami. This proposal was captured on cameras from Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
Mike’s co-stars helped him plan an emotional proposal and decorate the interior and backyard of their villa. Before he fell to one knee, the couple watched a slideshow that began with a heartbreaking declaration.
“I fell in love with you because you loved me when I couldn’t even love myself,” Mike wrote.
He said, “You are my best friend, my college lover, my better half. You make me a better person. Make me the happiest man on the planet. Please marry me?”

Mike and Lauren are currently sharing three children together: Romeo, 4, Mia, 2, Lunarcia, 18 months, Mike shared that parenting is “the best” while talking to people at the VMA.
“Oh my god, that’s the greatest thing ever,” he said.
He said, “Listen, being a young parent, that’s difficult, but that’s the best job out there.
