“Mid Century Modern” was cancelled on Hulu after just one season.

Series co-creator Max Mutchnick shared the news on Instagram and said, “10 great episodes… not enough. But we loved making all of them. We’re going to miss a very special show.

The multicam comedy series originally debuted in March. Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer, Nathan Lee Graham and Linda Lavin led the cast, but Rabin passed away in December 2024 prior to the series premiere.

According to the official logline, Shaw “follows three best friends of gay gentlemen of a certain age. They decided to live together in Palm Springs, where the wealthiest person lives with his mother after an unexpected death.

Mutchnick and David Kohan, who previously created “Will & Grace,” co-created the series and served as executive producers. Lane and Bomber were executive producers in addition to starring. The James Burrows executive produced and directed all 10 episodes. The 20th TV was in the studio.

“Mid Century Modern” received almost positive reviews at the time of release, and the show maintains a significant approval rate of 88% for Rotten Tomatoes. It appears they couldn’t find a significant audience. Hulu doesn’t usually release viewer info, but the show didn’t appear on Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming charts.
