First lady Melania Trump hosted an exclusive screening of her upcoming documentary at the White House, calling it a “historic moment.”
In a Jan. 25 post on X, Melania, 55, shared a photo of herself standing at a podium in front of a large crowd at the White House on Saturday, Jan. 24, for a screening of Melania.
“A historic moment,” she wrote. “I was humbled to be surrounded by friends, family, and an inspiring room of cultural iconoclasts last night at the White House, each of whom brought a unique vision to the world and left a lasting impression.”
“Our personal stories stand the test of time and serve as reminders of our obligations to each other. It was an honor to screen my new film ‘Melania’ ahead of its worldwide release,” she added.
First Lady Melania Trump followed the first lady through the first 20 days of 2025 in preparation for her husband Donald Trump’s second inauguration. Mark Beckman, an adviser to the first lady, said attendees at the black-tie event included Donald, Ratner, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, Amazon MGM Studios head Mike Hopkins, Barron Trump, Erica Kirk, Mike Tyson and Jordan’s Queen Rania.
In a press release, the first lady described Melania’s content as “history…in motion.” She expressed her excitement for viewers to experience “a private, unfiltered look at myself as I navigate family, business and philanthropy on my incredible journey to becoming the first lady of the United States.”
A trailer for the documentary shows the first lady preparing for the meeting, boarding Air Force One and smiling alongside her son Barron, 19, during the rally.
First lady Melania Trump promises viewers “exclusive footage of important meetings, private conversations and never-before-seen environments.”
The first lady is the executive producer of the documentary, which was licensed by Amazon. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos reportedly “expressed a personal interest” in the film, which helped strengthen his relationship with Trump, according to the New York Post.
According to Deadline, Amazon paid $40 million for the rights to the project, a huge sum for a documentary.

The documentary will premiere on January 30th, with a screening scheduled for the night before at the newly renamed Trump Kennedy Center.
Donald, 79, has yet to comment on the film after the screening, but he told reporters aboard Air Force One on January 11 that he was impressed by “some of the work” he had seen so far.
“I’ve seen some of it and it’s unbelievable,” he said at the time. “I think it’s going to work really well. You know, she published a book, and that book was a huge No. 1 bestseller. And this is a movie, and it seems like it’s getting a lot of people’s attention.”
Saturday’s screening of the film comes amid strong criticism of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota following the shooting death of 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Preti by federal agents in Minneapolis.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz responded to the incident in a post on X, saying he had discussed the “sickening” shooting with the White House.
Walz, referring to the president’s use of federal agents in the state, added, “The president must end this operation. Get thousands of violent, untrained police officers out of Minnesota. Now.”
