Meghan McCain is facing backlash due to her brutal excavation in the appearance of Greta Samberg.
The conservative commentator targeted Samberg’s hair in response to a video of a 22-year-old political activist who spoke in support of the Palestinians. McCain compared Samburg’s haircut to “Shrek” villain Faquad Lord.
McCain, 40, wrote to X:
She then deleted the post.
Critics responded and quickly blow up McCain about her comments.
“I refuse to speak seriously when someone talking about politics needs to use their last name to get a place,” one X user mentioned McCain’s late father, Arizona Sen. John McCain.
Another X user said, “Whether you agree with her or not… Why comment on the average girl’s comments?
“A person’s appearance does not relate to honesty or passion for any cause. This should be removed. It is under you,” another comment read by McCain.
Some critics were aiming for McCain’s own polarized hairstyle as co-host for “The View.”
“Meghan. You’re a beautiful woman, but don’t forget that we all saw your hair while you were watching the view,” one post read.
“Look at some of your hairstyles from the view. It’s as bad as your personality,” another comment wrote.
“It reminds me not to take you seriously with every hairstyle you see,” another X user cracked.
McCain’s representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Page 6.
In February 2021, McCain responded to “The View” to criticism about her hairstyle and makeup.
“People generally say a lot about me, but when it comes to my hair and makeup… I just pierced up, play, experimented and enjoyed. It was a community, I gave birth to a baby, let the bitch live!” she tweeted at the time.
When the troll laughed at her hair extension at the time, she also said, “Can a bitch try out the extension and hair? It’s a pandemic. I can’t entertain me anymore.”
In March 2020, McCain also fought back against those who criticized her looks.
“I want to talk about politics, but I don’t have all the comments about my appearance and my weight. That makes you feel weird,” she said in her “view.”
“Men don’t have that problem,” she added. “Everyone talks about how we see this show all the time. Can’t you hear what we have to say?”
