When Duchess Meghan returned to acting for the first time in eight years, she showed a “kind” gesture on set.
“Meghan was on set today,” a source told People on Wednesday about the Duchess of Sussex’s new role in Amazon MGM Studios’ “Close Personal Friends.”
A source claimed that although Markle has a small role in the Jason Orley film, “she looked very relaxed and happy”.
“She introduced herself to everyone and was a very sweet and down-to-earth person,” the source said.
Page Six reached out to Markle’s representatives for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.
As Page Six previously reported, the mother of two has joined the cast of Close Personal Friends, which also stars Jack Quaid, Lily Collins, and Brie Larson.
Markle, 44, will reportedly play herself in the film, which is about two couples, one famous and one not.
“This is a big moment for Meghan and marks a return to something she truly loves,” a production source told the US Sun on Wednesday, adding that the As Ever founder “has been inundated with offers, but this felt right.”
“This is Meghan’s way of gently dipping her toe back into the water and seeing how much she’s enjoying being back on set,” the source continued.
“Everyone involved is very excited and has been sworn to secrecy about her involvement.”
The source also said that Markle’s husband, Prince Harry, has been “really supportive and wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”
In 2017, the “With Love, Meghan” star announced she was retiring from acting and her recurring role as Rachel Zane on “Suits,” while she was engaged to the Duke of Sussex, 41.
Markle made her last appearance in the season 7 finale of the legal drama series in April 2018. The following month, she and Prince Harry wed in a lavish ceremony in England.
Two years later, the Sussexes quit their duties as working members of the royal family and moved to North America.
The couple currently live in a $14 million mansion in Montecito, California, with their children Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
