Duchess Meghan has taken on the unexpected role of interviewer for Town & Country’s latest cover story. After volunteering with Altadena Girls, which helps teens recover from the Los Angeles wildfires, earlier this year, the Duchess of Sussex interviewed the magazine’s founders, 14-year-old Avery Colbert and her mother Lauren Sandidge, for the magazine’s charity issue.
Although Meghan focused most of her questions on her charity work, she did share one meaningful piece of information about her life. It was Colbert’s hope for his 4-year-old daughter, Lilibet, based on the inspiring work he had done.
“I never thought my work would become this big. Even if it didn’t, it would still be meaningful and impactful,” Meghan began. “If our daughter looks like you, I will be the proudest mother. How can people keep helping you?”
Colbert responded, “I’m really looking forward to what’s going to happen. When you’re a teenager, everything feels like the biggest thing in the world. Even if it doesn’t matter 10 years from now, it really matters now. I always forget how much time I have. This is just the beginning.”
Her mother added: “We have big plans for[the charity’s]physical space and we have a lot of activities going on. It will be a hub for all the other great programs that serve the same community. Fender has created a music room for us. , will donate guitars, amplifiers and programming. And Alo Yoga will create a space for dance and movement. There will also be a creative space sponsored by Paris Hilton. It’s a really beautiful space with lots of vision boards.” Other fun things. We still need support to ensure that the program is sustainable in the long term so that we can deliver it. It’s definitely bold to do a physical space this quickly. This is a very ambitious project, but we believe it is necessary. ”
