Meghan Markle is celebrating an important opportunity!
On Tuesday, September 2nd, the Duchess of Sussex marked the birthday of her mother, Doria Ragland, in a sweet Instagram story tribute.
Meghan posted her own boomerang, smiling from ear to ear when she kissed her mother on the cheek. She decorated the video with pink hearts and wrote in white text, “Happy birthday to my beautiful mom!”
The clip was supported by Stevie Wonder’s 1980 hit “Happy Birthday.”

Meghan and Ragland share a close relationship. When Meghan was young, Ragland gave her the nickname “Flower.” The sweet nickname was revealed on Meghan’s now-deprecated lifestyle blog The Tig.
At the time, Meghan listed many of her nicknames as “Meg, MM, M&M, Flower (who was calling me since I was little.”
Although Ragland often traveled from California from her hometown to visit her daughter and son-in-law Prince Harry, they still live in the UK and attended many of the family’s milestone moments, such as the royal wedding in 2018 and the birth of her son, Archie in 2019.

Meghan’s longtime friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin previously told people in 2019 that “Meghan has gathered a lot of power from her mother.”
“Doria is classy, chic and confident, but I can’t fit. I’m sure Meghan has gotten a lot of that from her mother,” Martin said.
Ragland gave his first speech at Meghan and Prince Harry’s 2022 Netflix Docusaries Harry & Meghan, during which he admitted that “the past five years have been challenging.”
Ragland also recalled how Meghan told her that she was dating the Duke of Sussex.

“We’re on the phone and she says, ‘Mom, I’m going out with Prince Harry.’ And it was like, ‘Oh, what a goddamn, nobody knows’,” she said with Harry and Meghan.
However, when he first met him, Ragland realized that he was “handsome” and “really lovely” and “really great manners.”

“And they looked really happy together. When it was announced they were together, it felt a bit new,” she said.
