Meghan Markle laughs at the slight layoff of Suit, the hit show she starred in for seven seasons, before marrying Prince Harry in the new season of the Netflix series.
On an episode of Meghan’s second season, premiering on August 26, the Duchess of Sussex and her longtime friend Heather Druck met with a mixologist named Payman Bahmani-Bailey. Meghan asked how he became a mixologist and responded, telling her that he was a New York lawyer before he entered the craft.
“Did you see the suit?” she asked, referring to the legal drama that played Rachel Zane for seven seasons.
“No, no, I’m not looking at basic cable,” replied Vermani Bailly, which drew laughter from Meghan.

“I like the show with cursed words and things,” explained Bermani Bailly.
“Great, I love it,” Meghan replied.
Meghan’s character wrapped up the storyline with a seventh season of wedding ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry, but in 2023, the suits continued for two more seasons when it came to Netflix, finding a new audience.
Meghan, 44, spoke to people only earlier this year.
“It’s a time capsule for me,” she added, revealing that she still has Zane’s distinctive wardrobe. “I still have a pencil skirt from the first episode! That’s one thing I’ve had.”

Meghan lived in Toronto. The show was filmed there. When she first connected with Prince Harry at the age of 40, after the first date was held in 2016, the couple formed a long-distance relationship, travelling between Canada and the UK to visit each other, not apart for more than two weeks.

In an engagement interview with the couple in November 2017, Meghan mentioned leaving the show.
“I don’t think I’m giving up on anything. I see it as a change. It’s a new chapter. And I’ve also worked on the show for seven years. We’ve been very fortunate to have such a long life in the series,” she said.
“I checked this box and I’m extremely proud of the work I did there. It’s now time to work with (Harry) as a team,” she added. “What was really exciting when talking about my transition from my career is that my transition to role is what makes it even more important to me.”
