After being named Humanitarian of the Year, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated by heading out to lunch with longtime friend Serena Williams.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, arrived at Soho House in New York City for a daytime outing on Friday, where she was photographed wearing a blue and white striped blouse paired with navy blue wide-leg trousers.
She layered the stylish look with a brown overcoat and matching suede stiletto heels, and accessorized with a gold bracelet and a pair of discreet earrings. Markle kept a low profile by wearing sunglasses and wore her hair in a classic, conservative bun.
The mother-of-two carried a white leather handbag with brown handles to complete her look for Friday’s outing with her husband and tennis legend.
Markle and Williams, also 44, have been best friends since 2014, when they reunited after first meeting at the 2010 Super Bowl. The best friends were spotted arm in arm after lunch in March in Montecito, where Markle and Prince Harry own a vast estate.
The Duchess of Sussex’s lunch date comes a day after the couple made a rare appearance at the Project Healthy Minds Gala in New York on Thursday night.
The royal couple held hands on the red carpet, twinning in coordinated suits, and Markle turned heads in a plunging Armani blazer.
At one point, Prince Harry lovingly placed his hand on his wife’s bottom as photographers took pictures.
During the event, Archewell Foundation was recognized as ‘Humanitarian of the Year’ for their work in making digital spaces safer for families and young people.
The “Suits” alum later took to Instagram to praise her husband for staying strong during World Mental Health Day. Alongside a video clip of the two laughing backstage at the event, the As Ever lifestyle brand founder wrote, “Happy World Mental Health Day… to the person who always makes me laugh.”
The couple was also spotted at the Project Healthy Minds World Mental Health Day Festival held at Spring Studios on Friday.
Sources recently told Page Six that the Duchess of Sussex supports her husband’s efforts to reconcile with King Charles and the royal family amid the ongoing rift.
The conflict stems from the couple’s decision to quit royal duties in 2020 and move to Montecito, where they are raising children Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
“They need a (royal) family,” a source told us. “Meghan knows that.”
The source added: “Meghan knows that Prince Harry would like to be able to get to know his father on a human and personal level, rather than returning to royal duties.”
