Megan Thee Stallion is recovering after being rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after becoming “seriously ill” while appearing in Broadway’s “Moulin Rouge! The Musical.” She is scheduled to return to the show on Thursday.
“On Tuesday night, Meghan experienced concerning symptoms and was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation,” a representative said in a statement to Variety. “Doctors ultimately determined that extreme fatigue, dehydration, vasoconstriction and decreased metabolic levels were the causes of her symptoms. Megan has since been treated and discharged from the hospital and is currently resting.”

“Last night was a real wake-up call for me,” she wrote on Instagram. “Recently, I’ve been pushing my limits, running on empty, and my body finally told me it was enough. Honestly, I was scared. I thought I was going to pass out on stage. I really tried to push through the performance, but I just couldn’t. Dear handsome guys, I want to get serious with you all, because you mean everything to me, and I hate to let you all down.” Stronger, clearer, and 100% the way you deserve. Ready to serve. Thank you for always running with me and loving me through everything. ”
Megan was reportedly forced to leave the show midway through the show on Tuesday night due to breathing difficulties.
“During filming on Tuesday night, Megan became extremely ill and was immediately taken to a local hospital where she is currently being evaluated for symptoms,” a rep told Variety. In a statement to TMZ, the FDNY responded to the theater for a person who was having trouble breathing.

Back in February, it was announced that the Grammy Award winner was set to make his Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical as nightclub impresario Harold Zidler, a role originated by Tony Award winner Danny Burstein. Planned as an eight-week run at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, performances were scheduled to begin on March 24th and end on May 17th.
After seven years on Broadway, “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” will close on July 26th. By then, it will have performed 2,265 regular performances and 24 previews, making it the 36th longest-running show in Broadway history. Producers have not disclosed the reason for the closure. The show remains highly popular throughout its seven-year run. However, “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” requires a large amount of production costs due to the music rights and elaborate sets.
