Ashley Tisdale exposed mom groups as “toxic” and “mean” in a scathing essay for The Cut, but she didn’t stand by the status quo.

In a viral article from January 2026, the actress wrote about breaking up with former friends after being shut out of activities where she felt she was “too high school” to continue.

Fans were quick to criticize Tisdale for being linked to a star-studded group of moms since welcoming daughters Jupiter and Emerson, which includes A-list members like Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore.

At the time the essay was published, the “High School Musical” star no longer followed Duff and Moore on Instagram.

Representatives for Duff and Moore have not yet responded to Page Six’s requests for comment.

Hilary Duff

Duff told People in December 2024 that she was in the “trenches” with her mom group friends.

“Even though we’re pop stars, even though we’re on TV, I feel like our big connection to each other is that we love kids,” the “Lizzie McGuire” alum told the outlet. “When we first got together and started music lessons at my house, they were little baby bugs.”

“Now we’re in art class together, we’re in gymnastics class together, and we’re just like moms,” continued the singer, who is a four-time mom to Luka, Banks, Mae, and Townes.

Moore (pictured above, December 2025) talked about becoming a member of the Cool Moms Club in 2022. Mandy Moore/Instagram

In May 2022, Moore proudly called herself a member of the “Cool Mom Club.”

“For some reason, I got invited to it, and it was awesome,” the “This Is Us” alum told InStyle. “I’ve made so many great friends. We all got together for dinner earlier this week and had a baby class together and it’s been amazing.”

“It’s so much fun,” she added. “I’m so grateful for these resources and the amazing women I can lean on. We’re all navigating this chapter of our lives together.”

Moore and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, have a son, August, a son, Oscar, and a daughter, Louise.

“All About That Bass” singer Meghan Trainor raved about the “amazing group chat” she had with her mom friends in January 2025.

“None of them are on tour, and I’m always like, ‘I can’t go. I’m sorry, guys,'” the Grammy winner, who shares sons Riley and Barry with husband Daryl Sabara, told People magazine at the time.

When Tisdale stopped posting essays a year later, she still followed Trainor on Instagram.

Janice Gott

MUU founder Janice Gott is also a member of the mom group.

The businessman, who owns a company that sells hands-free breast pumps, posted about her fall vacation in October 2025, but Tisdale was not in the photo.

“Moms said BRB!” Gott, the mother of son Teddy, captioned a smiling photo taken at the Hotel El Lobler in Ojai, California.

Tisdale was still following Gott on Instagram the day he published his essay.

Gabby Dalkin

Another mom group member is cookbook author Gabby Dalkin (pictured above, November 2025). whatsgabycookin/instagram

Gabby Dalkin is a two-time mother and best-selling cookbook author, but Tisdale doesn’t follow him on social media.

Dalkin was one of the participants in Duff’s music class when the mom group first made headlines in July 2021.

The chef’s daughter Poppy appeared in some lovely photos at the time, and Dalkin continued to appear in group selfies for mom groups over the years.

She also has a son with her husband, Thomas.

Kelsey Deenihan

Makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan also attended her first music class, and her daughter’s name is Poppy.

Deenihan is frequently credited with doing makeup for Duff and Moore, along with celebrity clients such as Reese Witherspoon, Emma Roberts, Kelsea Ballerini, and Lucy Hale.

Tisdale was still following Deenihan at the time of publication.

hayley davidowitz

Hailey Davidowitz is a member of the mom group, but not much is known about her.

Although Davidowitz’s Instagram is private, she regularly appears in group shots and even attended the bougie fall vacation that Tisdale missed.

The “He Said She Said” singer was still following Davidowitz on Instagram when the article went viral.

Amanda Kaplan

Amanda Kaplan (pictured above, right in July 2025) is also a civilian member of the mom group. Kudinihan/Instagram

Amanda Kaplan is likewise a member of a mom group with a private profile on Instagram.

However, this artist has a public account to show off his painting and pottery skills.

Tisdale also follows the former.

Whitney Wagner Hartley, who has a son named Wilder with her husband Travis Schneider, is a content creator who promoted the mom group’s Ojai vacation on Instagram.

“It’s about leveling up but really just making sure I surround myself with people I can trust to only say good things behind my back,” she captioned a photo from the trip.

“Thank you @theroblar for your most needed 24 hours, ily.”

When Tisdale published her essay, she stopped following Hartley on Instagram.

Sammy Ryan

Sammy Ryan, the mother of sons Noah and Leo (pictured above in August 2024), criticized Tisdale after the former Disney Channel star’s essay went viral. Samirian/Instagram

Sammy Ryan, the founder of his eponymous streetwear brand, appeared to throw shade at Tisdale when the shocking essay went viral online.

She reposted a video of a man saying Megan Thee Stallion’s “Her” and called it a “2026 mood.”

The lyrics say: “I don’t care if these bitches don’t like me ’cause I’m pretty as fuck / I heard a guy say the other day / Really, what could a guy say? What would a guy say when these bitches paid for this with a face like this?”

Tisdale does not follow Ryan, the mother of sons Noah and Leo, on Instagram.
