Mediapro Studio Distribution has acquired the international rights to the historical drama series “Leonor, Marchioness” (“Leonor, Marchioness of Alorna”), capping off a series of activities at the Berlin Film Festival that screened films and TV series with worldwide distribution rights.

This ambitious adaptation of the best-selling novel by Portugal’s María João Lopo de Carvalho was produced by Pandora da Cunha Telles. The work centers on Leonor de Almeida Portugal, the Marchioness of Alorna, a poet, diplomat, revolutionary thinker, and considered one of the most glamorous women of the 18th century.

Over six episodes, the series follows the life of the Marchioness, from her childhood in a convent in Lisbon to her years at the court in Vienna and in revolutionary France. There she witnesses great changes spreading across Europe before returning to Portugal. Upon her return, she makes it her mission to challenge tyrannical rule and promote education.

Produced by da Cunha Telles’ Lisbon-based label Ucbar Films and Spain’s Tornasol Films, which won an Oscar for director Juan José Campanella’s The Secret in the Eyes, it will premiere on Portugal’s Pubstar RTP and Portugal’s Netflix.

Mediapro Studios also announced the latest film titles in its extensive catalog at EFM, including Lapenia, Aida y Vuelta and Mesa de Regalos.

Berlinale Series Market Select showcased two new series: “So Far So Good” (“El Resto Bien”) directed by Daniel Berman and “Laza Brava” directed by Hernán Cafiero.

“So Far So Good” is Daniel Burman’s latest work for the Argentinian platform Flow. Produced by MediaPro Studio’s Oficina Berman and Latin American production services company Cimarron, the new drama series from Berman and actor-director Daniel Hendler, who directed Netflix’s 2025 San Sebastian opener 27 Nights, follows a successful comic book artist who goes through a midlife crisis.

The eight half-hour episodes, starring Benjamin Vicuna, Rita Cortese, Violeta Urtisbelair, and Jorge Bolani, were co-written by Berman and his regular team of writers. Starring Hendler, Andrea Frigerio, Alejandro Awada and Marina Verati, it will premiere on Flow in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

Created by Hernan Cafiero, who won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his anthology series The Suspended Mourning, Raza Brava is the first fictional series about the real-life Latin American soccer team Colo Colo, and comes at a time when World Cup football fever is at its peak.

Produced by Eric Barmack’s Wild Sheep Content and Atomica and Descartes with support from Chilean broadcast network CNTV, the film is based on real events that took place in the Chilean capital, Santiago, over 20 years ago.

The film follows Carlos “Balti” Aguilar, a young man from a blue-collar neighborhood who rises to become the leader of the White Crows (Gala Blanca), enthusiastic supporters of Corocolo soccer club. Along with his friend Crabo, he is sucked into a sordid world of newfound wealth and power struggles, and White Claw, once a source of identity and respectability, becomes a prison.

Starring Gabriel Muñoz, Carla Melo and David Goethe, the film features thousands of real soccer fans as extras, adding authenticity to scenes filmed at Colo Colo’s Estadio Monumental and other real-life locations in Santiago where scenes from the series took place.
