Bravo has renewed the blockbuster hit “McVay Dynasty: Real American Cowboys” for a third season and plans to begin filming ahead of the Oct. 16 sentencing of family patriarch Steve McVeigh Sr. The show, which is like the real-life offspring of “Righteous” and “Succession,” moved from Peacock to Bravo for its second season, where it was a success.
In November 2024, McBee pleaded guilty in federal court to a “multimillion-dollar fraud scheme involving federal crop insurance benefits to which he was not entitled” from 2018 to 2020, according to a Department of Justice press release. In other words, he falsified reports for his family’s farm in Gallatin, Missouri, in order to receive subsidies and insurance money he was not entitled to receive. In an Oct. 6 memo, prosecutors asked U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Baugh to award McVee 41 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release and more than $4 million in restitution.
In the show, the economics of McBee Farming are always portrayed as unstable. Because of these legal issues, McBee only appeared twice in the show’s second season after starring in season one.
Season 2 of “McBee Dynasty” aired from June 30 to September 30, according to ratings provided by Bravo. 1 — Average weekly audience of 1.3 million viewers across platforms. Ratings were up 82% on Peacock and 213% on DVR compared to Season 1. The second half of the 10-episode season saw an increase of +16% on Peacock and +8% on Bravo through seven days of viewership. An interesting statistic is that about a third of McVie viewers in the second season watched it with someone else on both Bravo and Peacock, making it a top 4 original series in 2025 on both platforms, boosted by female viewers watching alongside male viewers, Bravo said.
