Maya Hawke is enjoying life as a newlywed.
The “Stranger Things” actress exclusively told Page Six that she “couldn’t be happier” nearly a month after marrying Christian Lee Hutson in a surprise wedding.
“I mean…love is the best,” she said Thursday at the SXSW 2026 world premiere of her new film Wishful Thinking.
“And tying that back to[the characters in ‘Wishful Thinking’]if I had any advice for Charlie and Julia, it would be to find a way for them to be more honest about their feelings,” Hawke added.
“Because I really feel so lucky to have found my best friend and to have someone I can talk to about anything. Things like marriage, it’s like, oh, of course I know, but I don’t like it. I’m very, very, very lucky. So I’m really happy.”
Hawke, 27, and Hutson, 35, tied the knot last month in a surprise Valentine’s Day wedding at St. George’s Episcopal Church in New York City.
The “Do Revenge” star looked stunning at the ceremony wearing a vintage-style boat neck dress with a dropped waist, bow, and layered skirt.
Maya’s famous parents, Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, also attended the star-studded wedding, and the “Black Phone” star, 55, walked her daughter down the aisle.
The “Kill Bill” actress, also 55, looked gorgeous in “Something Blue” for the wedding, wearing an asymmetrical floral Erdem dress and matching suede heels.
All of Maya’s Stranger Things castmates also appeared, including Finn Wolfhard, Joe Keery, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink, and Natalie Dyer.
After the ceremony, the bride and groom and their guests headed to the reception at The Players Members Club, where they partied all night.
The “Inside Head 2” voice actor and the musician were friends for four years before they became romantically involved.
In 2023, the couple was snapped kissing in New York City.
Maya and Hutson made their red carpet debut on the opening night of the Broadway play “John Proctor is the Villain” in April 2025 in New York City.
After the wedding, the two made their first public appearance as a married couple at the 2026 Tibet House U.S. Benefit Concert in New York.
