Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare appearance together at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City on Monday night, wearing suits and coordinating black coats.
The 39-year-old The Row designers skipped the red carpet but snuck into an awards ceremony at the American Museum of Natural History, where they accepted the American Accessories Designer of the Year award.
Ashley appeared to be wearing The Row’s Erdene coat ($5,500, but currently sold out online). This is a tailored tuxedo style made of lightweight wool with a satin shawl collar. Mary-Kate chose a similar black coat with darts on the front and padded shoulders.
Both sisters styled their outerwear over plunging V-neck tops. Mary-Kate wore white and Ashley wore black.
They completed their looks with gorgeous vintage Cartier jewelry. Ashley is wearing a 1928 Art Deco jadeite and diamond brooch (currently sold by McCraw Gallery for $65,000), and Mary-Kate is wearing a 1938 citrine and diamond necklace (prices upon request from FD Gallery). The same necklace sold for 274,000 Swiss francs (approximately $338,000) at a Sotheby’s auction in 2014.
They accepted trophies from Overcompensated actor Benito Skinner and jewelery designer Jennifer Fisher, and Mary-Kate gave a short but heartfelt speech. The Cut later shared a video of his remarks on Instagram.
“We are so grateful to our amazing customers for truly giving us the opportunity to do what we love,” she said.
She also paid tribute to her friends and family, saying, “Without your support, we wouldn’t be here today. Thank you for giving us the love and kindness that allows us to go to work every day.”
The former “Full House” stars beat out fellow nominees Anna Khoury, Katherine Holstein for the Kite Award, Raul Lopez for the Lure Award and Tory Burch for the prestigious award.
This marks another CFDA victory for the fashion mogul, who has won multiple trophies over the years. She has previously won the Accessories Designer of the Year award in 2014, 2018, 2019 and 2023, as well as Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2012 and 2015.
Monday’s outing is especially noteworthy considering the brothers don’t appear together in public often these days.
The pair last stepped out together in September during New York Fashion Week, attending W Magazine’s cocktail party at Eleven Madison Park, where they posed alongside friend and W editor-in-chief Sarah Moonves.
Ms. Moonves was also honored at Monday’s ceremony, where she accepted the Media Award honoring Eugenia Shepherd, presented by actress Jennifer Lawrence.
