Mariah Carey dazzled in a sheer Prada dress at Sunday’s pre-Grammy Awards gala.
The iconic songstress walked the red carpet at the Music Cares Person of the Year event in Los Angeles on Friday in a corseted floral dress. The dress had a lot of diamonds on it, just the way it looked.
The “All I Want For Christmas Is You” hitmaker paired her 55-carat necklace and 53.55-carat bracelet, both by Leviev, with 7.67-carat diamond earrings by Eso Maria.
Carey, 56, also graciously accepted the night’s honor at the event, and was photographed confessing that she felt “so happy to be here.”
“As I stand beside her tonight, I’m surrounded by so many friendly, familiar faces. People I’ve worked with, people I’ve admired for a long time, even people I thought I’d never see again,” she joked.
“I love you so much,” she continued. “There’s so much music. It’s overwhelming in the best sense of the word.”
Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Momsen, Billy Porter and the Foo Fighters lent their talents to perform at this high-profile event.
Celebrities such as Charlie Puth, Rita Wilson, Adam Lambert, Ke$ha and Dove Cameron also appeared at the event.
“I never dreamed that I would be here with these amazing artists singing my songs back, imbuing them with their own artistry and breathing new life into them,” Carey said in her acceptance speech.
On social media, fans gushed about the iconic songstress’ career and influence.
“A legendary career and a true influence beyond the charts. Mariah Carey’s influence on music is timeless. Congratulations to the Queen,” said one person, while another wrote: “She deserves the award.”
“In some ways, I feel like the breadth and depth of this event finally allows Mariah to truly be recognized and celebrated in the way she deserves,” added a third participant. “Thank you also @MusiCares for that. And she looks breathtakingly beautiful.”
This isn’t the first time the legendary songstress has flashed her legs in a sheer corset dress. She modeled a barely-there bronze Schiaparelli corset and matching sheer skirt at the February 2024 Recording Academy Honors.
