A new trailer for Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights has been released, giving viewers a closer look at the star-crossed love story between Cathy (Margot Robbie) and Heathcliff (Jacob Elordi).
The new video, soundtracked by a new song from Charli “Heathcliff, what would you do if you were rich?” Robbie’s Cathy asks Elordi’s orphan antihero. “I was trying to do what all rich people do,” he replies. “Live in a big house, treat your servants badly, and take a wife.”
When Cathy reveals that she must marry wealthy Edgar Linton (Shazad Latif) to maintain her social status, a devastated Heathcliff dedicates his life to destroying his family. However, Cathy has a hard time fighting her feelings for Heathcliff, and the trailer shows the two fighting and kissing in the rain multiple times. “So kiss me and let us both rot in hell,” Heathcliff, who plays Elordi, says to Cathy, who plays Robbie, as the clip ends.
“Saltburn” and “Promising Young Woman” filmmaker Fennell wrote, directed and produced her own take on Emily Bronte’s 1847 Gothic romance. In addition to Robbie and Elordi, the film also stars Hong Chau as Nelly Dean and Alison Oliver as Isabella Linton. Owen Cooper (Adolescence) and Charlotte Mellington (Matilda the Musical) play younger versions of Cathy and Heathcliff.
Wuthering Heights will be released in theaters on February 13th by Warner Bros.
