Mandy Moore’s journey to fame was something to remember.
In a Q&A session on September 26th, he said in a Q&A session with Storm Reed at the 2025 Inspiration Awards for Step Up in Los Angeles, this was extremely grateful for navigating early fame before the social media era.
“I feel really, really fortunate because I am still a regular 15 year old and had no chance of getting this incredible job and opportunity. “I was able to go to the mall, I was able to go to the amusement park, I was able to go to my old school homecoming dance with a friend.”
“I was still very allowed to switch between both worlds, but I was never overwhelmed,” she continued. “I’ve never told me I have to choose my lane and define myself in one way. I was able to understand things as I went through stages, and for me, I feel it’s a definition of success and life expectancy.”
Moore rose to fame with her debut single, “Candy” in 1999. She continued to release music and then took on various film and television roles.
Along with finding fame at a younger age, Moore-Mama said he also learned one or two from August “Gus” Harrison, 4, Oscar “Ozzy” Bennett, 2, and Louise “Lou” Everett, 1, along with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, about navigating the anxiety and public scrutiny that followed.
“I’m definitely my worst critic,” she admitted. “I try to have grace for myself for the people I love in my life, and I’m just doing something. I just take small, incremental steps. You don’t need to understand that. In fact, no one is thinking about it.

What about how an actress deals with the inevitable feelings of self-doubt that can arise on tough days?
“I am my mother, I am my wife, my sister, my daughter, my friend, my partner, I am trying to remind you of all this,” Moore emphasized. “I know who I am, I know what I want, I know what I don’t want.”

“It’s going to be easier to answer these questions than other days, but it’s actually about showing up for yourself and realizing there are a lot of difficulties,” she added. “Life is a roller coaster and you have to keep one foot in front of the other, and that’s what you’re going to win that day.”
