Malcolm Jamal Warner’s mother is “peace” following the fatal drowsing of her son, but she says learning the news is a traumatic experience.
Speaking to Robin Roberts on Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning America, Pamela Warner revealed how she’s been doing since the actor passed away in July.
She detailed her neighbor screaming from the “behind (her) soul” running to her house, and she said, “What came out and what came out were huge. It was an indescribable pain that resonated with my body.”
Despite the enormous pain, Pamela insists that she is “in peace with everything that happened” and is relieved to know that it is simply “his time.”
“That’s how he transitions, and this is what I believe and what I feel,” she told Roberts.
She also recalled the deep conversations they had over the years, adding, “I am extremely grateful that I am grateful that I have become his mother.”
Pamela continued.
“I didn’t have a shoulder. ‘I wish I had said this, I wish I had done this’ I don’t have it.
During the interview, Pamela also revealed some contradictory reports about the death of the “Cosby Show” star.
She claimed Malcolm Jamal died while trying to save her daughter, saying, “She was on the coast. She was not in the water.”
Instead, she explained that when the actor was in the water with a friend on the beach in Limon, Costa Rica, they both got caught up in Under.
“They were hip-deep and were drawn to me. My son was not an experienced swimmer. He didn’t know how to deal with the underto,” Pamela said.
Pamela also provided an update on how her son’s widow and daughter are doing it a few months after his death.
“The kids handle differently,” Pamela said of her granddaughter. “She saw them trying to revive him and revive him. She saw it and I know it’s terrible, grossly traumatic.”
She said, “She loved her father so much. She worshiped her father. He was a father. And they both have deep sadness.”
This is not the first time Pamela has spoken about the death of her son. In August, she took her to his Instagram, which became a tribute page, to share similar feelings.
She wrote, “Malcolm was born through water and transferred through water. This was his time. His mission on earth was complete.”
Malcolm Jamal died on July 20th after he owned his family vacation in Costa Rica. He was 54 years old.
Police later revealed that the actor was “caught at high speed” while swimming on the beach in Limon.
Bystanders worked to land Malcolm Jamal, but by the time the Costa Rican Red Cross arrived and tried to revive him, he was declared dead on the scene.
There were no lifeguards on the beach at the time, but officials said the owner’s death happened “very fast.”
Malcolm Jamal’s cause of death was listed as choking due to “diving.”
His widow, Tenisha Warner, recently broke her silence and revealed her identity – revealed her identity with a sweet Instagram tribute.
Sharing a wedding photo she has never seen before, she announced the launch of the Warner Family Foundation and River & Ember with her daughter.
“I can still hear my husband laugh, but I feel the way he made space for every part of me.
“Today, in his honor, my daughter and I have launched River & Ember and officially opened the Warner Family Foundation.
She concluded by saying, “This is love. It’s still moving. It’s still making. It’s still moving us forward.”
