Mädchen Amick has a double lead role on “Brilliant Minds,” with Amick set to guest star in one episode and direct another.
Variety has exclusively learned that Amick will direct the seventh episode of the NBC medical drama’s second season, which airs on November 3rd, and will then guest star in the ninth episode, “Firefighter,” which airs on November 24th.
As previously announced, Eric Dane will guest star in the same episode as a firefighter with ALS. Alicia Ramati, played by Amick, is described as “a strong-willed woman who shows her emotions, especially when it comes to her firefighter ex-husband Matthew (Dane). She’s not afraid to speak her mind and cares about the people she loves.”
Amick is known for starring in dramas such as “Twin Peaks,” and later appeared in the Showtime revival. She previously appeared on The CW’s hit series “Riverdale,” making her television directorial debut by helming multiple episodes. Other notable appearances include “American Horror Story,” “Damages,” “Californication,” “Gossip Girl” and “ER.” Her feature directorial debut, Fractured, was released in August.
Amick is repped by Gersh and KW Entertainment.
“Brilliant Minds” Season 2 premiered on September 22nd. The series is inspired by author and physician Oliver Sacks. The cast includes Zachary Quinto, Tambera Perry, Ashley Lathrop, Alex MacNicol, Ollie Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, Brian Altemus, and Al Calderon.

Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Lee London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, Demane Davis, Jasmine Rath, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis, and Shefali Malhotra also serve as executive producers.
