Casper Van Dien and Bastiano Ferrari have joined director Josh Webber’s dark romantic thriller Love Me Dead, which is set to wrap principal photography in Los Angeles soon.
Starring Dove Cameron (The Descendants) and R.J. Mitte (Breaking Bad), Love Me Dead follows Isaac (Mitte), a young mortician who feels more comfortable with the dead than with the living. The official synopsis reads: “Isaac’s quiet world is shaken when he becomes infatuated with the seductive waitress Cassie (Cameron). He is drawn into a passionate relationship that quickly turns dangerous. As love spirals into obsession and bodies begin to overlap, Isaac is forced to question how far he will go for connection and whether he can survive when love is rooted in destruction.”
Van Dien and Ferrari will play detectives investigating the bloody incident.
“Love Me Dead” was written and directed by Webber, who is producing under his Webber Films banner alongside Ferrari and his Ferrari Films. The film is also produced by Mylene Carmona, Robert Robinson, Stacey Ferrari, and Susan Prinz. Executive producers include Latif Abid, Mo Panjani, Mario Azevedo, and Hans Gerst.
Van Dien is best known for his role as Johnny Rico in the science fiction action film Starship Troopers. His other credits include “Sleepy Hollow,” “Tarzan and the Lost City,” “Chasing Destiny,” and “Modern Vampires.”
