Riverdale and Forbidden Fruit actor Lili Reinhart recently appeared in a video interview with Cosmopolitan magazine in which she revealed that a male director once told her to “suck his stomach a little” between takes. Reinhardt did not reveal the name of the male director.
Joined by her “Forbidden Fruit” co-stars Laura Tung, Victoria Pedretti and Alexandra Shipp, Reinhart was asked to name “her personal acting notes.” She answered without hesitation: “One time a male director came up to me, quietly bent over and said, “Please give me a little belly suck.”
The “Forbidden Fruit” cast gasped at the revelation, with Pedretti saying, “Oh my god. What’s his name? What’s his address?” Tung shouted: “It’s time for hexes!” It’s time for hexes! When Reinhart said he would tell his castmates the director’s name later in private, Shipp urged them to “say his name!”
Reinhardt has been open about her struggle with body dysmorphic disorder for years. She developed an eating disorder because of her role as Betty Cooper on The CW’s “Riverdale.”
“I really don’t like looking at images and photos from season six because I know that 99 percent of my thoughts are about my body,” she told Self magazine last year. “I was 1000 percent disconnected from myself that day, or that entire scene, because my whole internal dialogue was just… ‘Your body is changing.’
In 2023, she posted the following on X and became a hot topic. “I wish more average-sized arms were represented in women’s mainstream media. My body dysmorphia has gone crazy because I feel like my arms should be half the size they are now. We’ve glamorized thin arms that, for most people, can only be achieved through literal adolescence.”
