Lil John flaunted his bulging muscles and tore his abs while making his debut as a bodybuilder.
In the photo obtained on Page 6, “Yes!” The 54-year-old rapper flexed his tone peck and smiled after competing in the Muscle Beach Championship in Venice Beach, Los Angeles on Monday. The Grammy Award winners performed a third-place medal in the male physician degree in over 45 categories.
He wore silk boxing shorts reading “Soul Chakra” and “Liljon” in his waistband, and accessories with knit caps and shades. He also pulled his iconic dreadlock away from his face, showing off the various angles of his carved physique, showing off a barely recognizable appearance.
In one photo, he was willing to pose with other beam contestants. The rapper took him to Instagram after his victory to share a video of himself shining in the sun as he pumped the irons as contestant #138. Lamelo Hayes’ “Ambition” was the soundtrack for the motivational post.
“3rd place! Alhamdulia. Thank you for all your support in this journey!!” he partially captioned the upload.
In the weeks leading up to the perennial “large outdoor bodybuilding show on the planet,” Lil John frequently went to Instagram to share clips of his intense workouts with trainer Jay Galvin.
In an August 20 upload, the rapper said he was asked “always” how he “has come to such a good shape.”
“Number one is diet,” he revealed in a voiceover, as he performed as he stepped into the treadmill shirtless.
“Number 2: This,” he continued. “You get on the treadmill, tilt the 15, 2-3 mph. It melts fat from your body,” he promised. “Do that, I’ll do it. I’ll do it!”
Following the Muscle Beach Championship, the “Snap Yoinger” hitmaker told reporters he had made major lifestyle changes to achieve his victory.
“With the gym, the dedication, the food, the focus, it was physically the whole time,” he said according to ABC7 Los Angeles.
“One of the things I want is that I can inspire people who say, ‘I don’t have time, I can’t,'” he added. “If I can do that, you can do that too.”
