It has been announced that Lesley Manville will co-star with Brett Goldstein in Amazon Prime Video’s new comedy series “Escorts”.
The show was originally announced in November 2025 as an eight-episode series. The logline reads, “A divorced Manhattan father (Goldstein) happens to become a male escort in this romantic comedy about relationships, secret-keeping, and whether money can buy true intimacy.”
Manville will be a series regular in the role of Terry, the mother of Goldstein’s character Denny. Terry has been described as “A charismatic bombshell cabaret legend, Terry is a force of nature with a voice to match.”
Manville was nominated for an Academy Award in 2018 for her supporting role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread. She has been nominated for seven BAFTAs, most recently for her work on Netflix’s hit series The Crown. She previously appeared in the Amazon series “Citadel,” as well as shows such as “Harlots,” “Disclaimer,” “Grotescree,” “North and South,” and “Mom.” In movies, she has appeared in works such as “Another Year” and “Let Him Go.”
She is repped by Artists Rights Group, Avalon Television, and Public Eye Communications.
In addition to starring in Escort, Goldstein also serves as the series’ writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner. Brian Gallivan, who currently works with Goldstein on the acclaimed Apple TV show “Shrinking,” will also serve as executive producer and co-showrunner. Josh Sr. (“The Bear”) will also serve as an executive producer along with Molly Mandel, Jamie Lee and Tyson Bidner. The studio is Warner Bros. Television, where Goldstein has an overall contract.
