Cyril Aris’ “A Sad and Beautiful World” is a 30-year love story in Beirut, with its tumultuous history behind its tumultuous history, and was selected as a Lebanese nominee in Oscar’s best international feature film category.
The film stars Moonia AKL as Yasmina (“Costa Brava”) and Hasan Akil (“Memory Box”) as Nino. The cast was completed by Julia Kasser, Kamille Salamet, Anthony Callum and Nadine Charfub.
Cyril Alice previously created the documentary “Dance on the Volcano Edge.” This was a splash in the competition at Carlovy in 2023.
“Sad and Beautiful World” is produced by the well-known Lebanese producer Georges Schkaa through his abbreviations, including “Costa Brava”, “Lebanon”, and “Memory Box”. The same goes for movies
Produced by US Banner Diversity Rental (Joyland) and alongside German Reinard films. It is co-produced with Art and Sunnyland Films, a member of the Red Sea Fund in Saudi Arabia.
“A Sad and Beautiful World” operates Venice Film Festival independently of Degli Autori in Venice, tied with another title for the People’s Choice Award.
Sales of Paradise City in France handles sales of “Sad and Beautiful World” released by Sunnyland in the Middle East and Neu Visionen in Germany.
Ampas will unveil 15 films registered in the International Feature Film category on December 16th.
